Chapter 11

When darkness consumed me, hindi ko na naisip na masasaktan ang mga taong nagmamahal sa akin. I didn't think twice that yaya would mourn if she sees my lifeless body lying on the floor. Wala nang halaga sa akin na makita ako ng mga magulang ko na nakahandusay habang nababalot sa dugo. At that moment, all I could think about is that after all of this, I would never experience pain again. So, I welcomed death with open heart.

But maybe it's not yet the right time... because when I tried to open my eyes... I've seen light once again. Isang nakakasilaw na liwanag na naman ang bumungad sa akin, but I can't fully open my eyes. So, at first, I thought it was heaven. But I've heard the sounds of the machine and realize that once again.. .I'm in the hospital. Someone saved me again. 

And I know who she is. I know who saved me again because I can hear her whimpers. I can hear her begging for me to wake up. And I badly wanted to hug her. I wanted to assure her that I'm alive. So, I tried my best to open my eyes and lift a finger to assure her that I am still here. 

"Ya-ya. I'm so-rry." nahihirapan kong saad sa kanya.

"Sen-yo-rita!" saad naman ni yaya at mas lalo pang naiyak. "Tinakot mo ako, senyorita." aniya sa gitna ng mga hikbi niya. "Akala ko hindi na kita maliligtas. Akala ko mawawala ka na nang tuluyan sa akin." dagdag pa niya.

"I'm so-rry, yaya." ulit ko lang sa kanya.

Tumango lang si yaya at nagtawag ng doctor para masuri ako. The doctor said that I am already medicallly stabilized, kaya naman ay pinayagan na rin akong ma-discharged. 

The staff in the emergency department also provided me with a follow-up care plan. Actually, I didn't listen carefully and just nodded with what the staff said, but yaya listened intently and asked the staff questions, so I felt safe.

Tahimik lang din kaming nakauwi sa bahay. My parents are not there. Yaya said that they needed to attend a business conference abroad, but she texted them about what happened to me. Hindi naman daw nagreply ang mga magulang ko, baka daw ay busy pa iyon sa conference. I just also nodded with what she said, not caring a thing about my parents' reactions. 

Nagpatuloy lang ako sa pagpunta sa kwarto ko para sana makatulog ulit, but yaya said na sa guest room na lang daw muna ako dahil pinarenovate nila ang kwarto ko sa kadahilanang natakot sila na baka ulitin ko na naman ang ginawa ko. I felt their concern, so I didn't comment about it and just went to the guest room.

Pagkarating ko sa guest room ay humilata agad ako sa kama. Si yaya naman ay humiga rin sa kama ko. 

"Tulog na tayo." aniya pa.

I just gave her a little smile and dozed my sleep off to sleep. 

Nagising lang ako ng may maramdaman akong malamig na bagay sa noo ko. 

"Nilalagnat ka kaya nilagyan kita ng bimpo sa noo." saad ni yaya nang mapansing gising na ako.
