The bell rang. Finally, class was over. I couldn't wait any longer to see Kaneki. We're going to meet up at Antique, since I had a club meeting after school. All I could think about was him. Nothing else. I actually thought about what I could give him for his birthday. Why? Well, because that kiss was sort of my early birthday present. Kaneki deserves much more than that. I thought about what he likes.

Books. Kaneki is the biggest nerd I know, and he has a soft spot for books. I thought about all the books he hasn't read, which was pretty hard, but I finally thought of one. He was talking about this book that he wanted to buy but he couldn't find it. It something like Egg of the Black Goat but I'm not sure.

After I get out of school, I hurry to Antique and walk inside to see Kaneki looking out the window. He looked gorgeous, and I didn't want to ruin the picture, so I just stood there until he noticed me. "Hey (Y/N)!" He waved at me. I must've looked like and idiot just standing there. How embarrassing. I blushed like crazy and I walked to him and sat down. "Hi! Welcome to Antique!" said a girl about my age with blue, short hair. "Hi," I replied. "I'll just have the special today." I looked and noticed that Kaneki was staring at me. Which made me blush even harder.

I'm almost sure that I look like a tomato. How ridiculous am I? "So, (Y/N). How are you?" Kaneki asked. What an awkward turtle he was. I smiled and said, "Exhausted. And what makes things worse, I have to go clean the house after this because my mother is too old to even walk down the stairs herself." I wish I didn't say that, I love my mother. And it probably sounded rude to him.

But to my surprised, he chuckled. "That sucks. Well anyways, will you be doing anything tomorrow? I have something planned, but I can cancel it if you're busy." Me? Busy? If Kaneki didn't invite me to wherever it was, I would just be watching Naruto all day. "No, I'm not doing anything that day." I said. "But may I ask where we're going?" Kaneki shook his head. "Nope, sorry. It's a secret." I just nodded.

The waitress came back with my coffee and placed it on the table. "Enjoy!" She said. As I drank my coffee, Kaneki and I talked for an hour, which seemed like two minutes. We got up, I paid for my coffee, and we walked outside.

"Well," Kaneki said. "I'll see you tomorrow then?" I smiled and nodded. "Yes, of course." We hugged and parted ways. I was so excited to buy the book that I practically skipped to all the bookstores that I could find. After searching in about a million book stores, I finally found one that had the book Kaneki wanted.

I bought it and wrapped it in a really pretty wrapping paper and wrote him a card. It said:

Kaneki,

Happy birthday, you nerd. I bought you something that I'm pretty sure you'll like, if not, love. To be honest, I really have absolutely no idea why you're into this kinda stuff. But hey, you're you. Like I said, the biggest nerd I know.

Well anyways, aside from all that. I want to tell you that I really like you (I sound like a kindergartener talking to their crush) and I want you to know that. Have an amazing day.

~ (Y/N)

I closed the card and waited for the next sunrise.
