Chapter 5: Where We Goin'?

It was six.
Kaneki was right on time. I guess I kind of expected that, since he was a goody-two- shoes and all.

I walked to the door and stood there for about thirty seconds. This is it. I thought to myself. Finally, I sighed and open the door. There, in front of me, stood the very handsome boy himself, Kaneki.
I smiled. "Hello, (Y/N)." He said. I looked at him as I stepped out and handed him his present. He looked surprised.

"(Y/N)," he said. " you didn't have to!" He hugged me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "I wanted to. And nothing was going to stop me." I whispered on his ear. He pulled me back and kissed me, oh so very passionately. Very passionately. "Happy Birthday." I said, making a big effort in trying to hide my eagerness. "Aw." I heard my mom thought the very thin windows that we have.
I turned around , my face drenched in embarrassment and the color red. She smiled and waved, like nothing happened. Then, I see my dad walk to the window. "OK, let's go!" I said as we quickly walked down the steps and into his car

"So, where are we going?" I asked. He started the car and smiled. "Somewhere." Just tell me, Kaneki! I wanted to say, but I just went along with it.

He parked the car. "We're here." Kaneki said. I looked out the window. We were at a park that closed half an hour ago. "Kaneki," I said. "if you wanted to spend your birthday at a park, why didn't we just go to the one close by our house, instead of driving for half and hour to another one?" He looked at me and smiled. "Because that one doesn't close. We wouldn't have any privacy." I blushed. Oh god, what are we going to do. I gulped.

We got out of the car and walked to the tall gates that stood before us. "How are we gonna get in? It's too tall to climb." He looked at me and then down to his phone that he took out. I watched him as he scrolled through his contact list and tapped on a number. "Hello?" Kaneki said and was silent for a moment. "Hey Hide! Yeah we're here.... OK thanks." I was confused. "Hide will be here in a moment to open the gate." I guess he could see the he confusion on my face. I nodded.

Wait. Where is Hide coming from- my thoughts were cut off as soon as I saw Hide unlock the gate from inside. "Hey guys!" He said as he smiled and let us into the park.
We started walking down a path that was surround by trees. "What are we going to do?" I asked Kaneki again. He just smiled and held my hand. Shouldn't I be planning something for him?
