Hide walked in front of us, but I could tell even from behind that he was smiling. He had kind of like a jump in his step.
So did Kaneki. I looked at home as we walked, and admired all his features like every single time that I saw him.
What I am mostly in love with was his smile. It made me feel like it was my home, and I didn't want to go anywhere else; because I love my home. His eyes are the second best thing. It's rare for someone to have black eyes. And when they do, it's just frightening. But not his. Kaneki's eyes remind me of the sky at night, when the stars are out.
We turned off the path and into the trees now. "Ok," said Hide. "We're here." I looked foward and gasped. There was a clearing in the middle of the trees, a large clearing; and in that clearing was a projector set up on something black, I'm not sure what it's called, and a few feet away is a white screen I guess you could say.
A few feet in front of the screen was an old car, the type from the 1920s with the top part gone.It looked exactly like a drive in movie, which I love because I have no idea why. It's one of those feelings that you get in your heart, and it makes you happy, but you just don't know why.
"Kaneki-" I was speechless. I couldn't think of anything to say. I looked back and forth from Kaneki, to Hide, to the set. "You guys did this?" I asked. They're making me feel like it was my birthday, but it's not. It's Kaneki's!"Well! I'll leave you two alone! The popcorn is right next to the projector, just hit play on the projector for the movie, and there's blankets in the car to keep you warm! Bye! And happy birthday Kaneki-kun!" Hide said as he walked off back to the entrance.
Kaneki took my hand and pulled me into the car. He ran to the projector, hit a button, and ran back with two bags of popcorn in his hands.Honestly he looked like a dork, which made me laugh. "I love that laugh of yours, (Y/N)." He said. I blushed. "Thanks. " I said. Well, what the heck was I supposed to say?
I looked at the white screen as the movie started to play. The Notebook. Wow. Seriously Mr. Kaneki Ken? Seriously? I looked over at him with my "seriously" face, and he laughed. I just smiled at him, because he probably knew what he was doing when he chose the movie.
"Happy Birthday Kaneki." I whispered in his ear, and kissed him. He pulled me closer and held me for the rest of our time there.
