Your POV

3 Months Later

My mother laughed. We were all sitting around a table in some fancy restaurant. By we I mean it was me, my mother, father, and Kaneki. "You're so funny, Kaneki-kun!" My mother continued laughing.

He gave her a smile and looked down, blushing. I grabbed ahold of his hand and placed it on my lap. Kaneki gave me a look, which said: "I love you." We turned back and found my mother and father staring at us both.

"You two are just so cute." My mother rested her chin upon her hands. Kaneki chuckled. "Thank you, (Mother's Name). But really, it's just (Y/N) who's cute in this relationship." He looked back at me and kissed my cheek.

I felt my cheeks burn up. My mother laughed again, as did my father. My heart felt like it was going to explode. I was extremely happy that everything was back to normal. Except for a few things. Some people were missing from my life. Like Hide.

But not from my heart.

Kaneki got out of the car, and thanked my parent's one final time. "Hold on Dad, I'm going to say bye." I said as I got out of the car. " 'Kay. But try not to get too handsy." He practically screamed out the window.

Kaneki snickered behind me. "Dad!" I said. He shrugged. "What?" I shook my head and walked with Kaneki to the door. He sighed and turned to look at me. His smile was the cutest thing, and I was glad to have it back.

"I'm so glad to have you back into my life." I said. Kaneki placed a hand on my cheek, and I leaned on it, holding onto his wrist. "As am I, (Y/N)." He closed in on me for a kiss. After twenty seconds or so, the car horn honked.

We both jumped and looked over to the car. My dad was waving through the window. I sighed. "Sorry." I apologized. Kaneki chuckled. "It's ok." He kissed me one last time. "Now, go. Or your dad is going to beat me up."

"Okay." I said. "I love you." Kaneki waved. "I love you too!" He responded. I hopped into the car and watched him wave as we turned around and drove away. I sighed.

My life felt like it was coming back together.

Next Day

"(Y/N)? Can we come in?" My mother asked through the door. I removed my headphones and responded. "Yeah, come on in." She opened the door and they walked in. My dad sat on the bed next to my mother. They had a worried face.

I panicked. "What happened? Is Kaneki okay?" My mother gave a small smile. "Nothing happened, honey. It's ok. It's just that. . ." She looked over at my dad, who gulped. My mother looked back at me.

"You're adopted, (Y/N)."

My heart raced. "I'm. . . what. . what happened to my real parents?" My mother choked up, and got up to hug me. "They're dead, sweetie." She whispered in my ear. My dad looked down.

My mother released me. "I'm your aunt, honey. So we're not complete strangers. Right?" She chuckled nervously. I sat there in silence, staring at the couple in front of me.

I cracked a smile. "You're my mother. Not my aunt. And you," I looked at my father, "you're my father. Not a stranger. Nothing's changed. You're my parents. I didn't know the others. I know you, and even though you're biologically my aunt, you're still my mother by heart."

She laughed and tears escaped her eyes. I got up from my chair and hugged them both. "I love you guys. Just promise not to leave me." I begged. My mom and dad wrapped their arms around me. My mother kissed my head.

"Never."
