Losing Game

Chapter 25 - Brother-in-law?

Benz was sitting on the couch with the two boxes of animal crackers on each side of him. He'll admit that he was having a grand time at Saint's apartment and an even better time torturing his older brother. When he saw the messages from Saint earlier in the day, he knew this had to be the person Tommy tried to tell him about. It didn't help Zee in any case that his phone password never changes so Benz was able to get into it and spot his new wallpaper. He had no idea where the photo was taken, let alone why it was only a side profile of Saint but it looked like he was busy looking at some picture or painting on the wall. After getting over that shock, he relooked at the three messages and left the apartment. He had been to the university before but had no idea where the admissions building was. He was thankful to the random students who actually walked him over to it since they knew he would probably get lost along the way. It was a gamble just sitting near the entrance and waiting for Saint to either come in or out of the building. He had a genuine idea of what he looked like but other than the side profile - he was working with nothing else. After about ten minutes or so, he heard footsteps from someone coming near him and when he looked up, he saw the side profile he wanted.

His attention shifted when he heard laughing coming from where Saint was currently standing. He was talking to the friend that he had swapped cars with.

"Did you really have to buzz me from the garage?" Saint crossed his arms while Mew had a smug look on his face.

"Hey hey! I'm just testing out all the new features that got installed for everyone on this side" Mew moved more into the apartment to look at the new digital panel on the wall.

"There are so many features. I don't have to constantly call or text you on the phone now - even though you called me for no reason. Could have used this new toy. Man, I can just buzz you from the lobby or garage and if I do not hear anything then I know you're not home"

"Luckily they did all of it while I was out of the building and at school. I don't think I would have liked them walking in and out of my apartment. It was about time this half of the building got it installed"

"Now that I think about it, all this would have been perfect when I was trying to get ahold of your drunk self cuddling with -"

"P'MEW"

"Okay I'll stop teasing you, for now. Oh that reminds me!" Mew pulled his wallet out from his jeans pocket and opened it to reveal four fresh white cards.

"Here. You looked at my message about the new key cards for the penthouse awhile back but you never replied. I figured I would just pick them up. They only had two in the beginning but I ordered two more for you since I know you gave your friends the spare ones from last time"

"Thank you, how much were they? I'll transf-"

"Don't worry about it nong, just give me my SUV back. I don't know how you drive your car around. I'm so used to my car that I kept leaving gaps in parking spaces"

"It's not that bad Phi, if I remember correctly you used to drive a smaller car before"

"Yeah when you were like 12 years old" Saint laughed at the comment before grabbing the keys from where they laid and gave them to Mew.

"Test out the system another day but for now, go home and rest. We have to go over everything next week and I need you well alive"

Saint said his goodbyes to Mew and closed the door before walking over to Benz. He was confused on how he could already be done with one bag of animal crackers. Those take him at least two weeks to finish. Then again he would forget about them and either Billy or Opp would finish it off for him. Or Orn's monthly cleaning spree of his apartment would see them in the trash.
