*Only a short chapter guys*
Lucy POV
'Chriiiiiiiis?', I asked in a sing songy voice once we'd finished eating.
'Yes Luce', he answered raising his eyebrow at me and giving me a cheeky grin.
'You know how you said you'd teach me to play?'
'Yeah, did you wanna do it right now?', he asked looking shocked.
'I've been itching to get my hands on the piano since I got here if I'm honest. Granted, I can only play the beginning of 'Do Re Me' but still...'
'Come on then!', he said jumping up off the sofa, taking my hand and dragging me up with him. We headed over to the piano and shared the piano stool with Dodger following and sitting waiting expectantly. I bet Chris played all the time.
'So go on, show me what you got', he said lifting up the cover.
'Oh no, it's embarrassing!', I said covering my face with my hands. I felt his hands over mine and he placed them on the piano keys. I opened my eyes and glanced at him.
'Play Luce', he said softly and gave me a wink and encouraging smile. I played the very first bit of 'Do Re Me' and stopped when I didn't know anymore.
'Told you it was shit', I said shrugging. 'I bet you're like bloody Tchaikovsky!', I added.
'Not quite. And don't knock yourself, that was good!', he said encouragingly.
'You have to say that cos you're my .....', I stopped talking and trailed off and glanced away. Oh shit, we weren't gonna have that talk were we?!
'Boyfriend?', Chris asked talking my left hand and sweetly kissing it. I turned back and smiled at him.
'Really?', I asked with a grin as wide as a cheshire cat's.
'Really', he said mirroring my grin. 'Now we've got that out of the way, let's try and get you playing something', he said winking at me.
We spent the next hour playing the piano together. I kept getting frustated when my left hand joined the party but Chris was really patient and by the end of the hour I was playing 'Hello Again' by Neil Diamond with Chris singing it with minimal mistakes. It was super romantic.
Hello Again by Neil Diamond
Hello, again, hello
Just called to say hello
I couldn't sleep at all tonight
And I know it's late
I couldn't waitHello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
When I'm here alone
And you're there at home
HelloMaybe it's been crazy
And maybe I'm to blame
But I put my heart above my head
We've been through it all and you love me just the same
And when your not there
I just need to hearHello, my friend, hello
It's good to need you so
It's good to love you like I do
And I feel this way when I hear you say
HelloHello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
And I know it's late but I could't wait
Hello'Go on, you play something now', I said standing up and leaning on the piano.
'Ok, anything in particular?', he asked.
'Well, I dunno what you can play. Ooh, can you play any Disney stuff?' His response was just a pfft and he started tinkering away at the ivories. I soon recognised he was playing 'Part Of Your World', from The Little Mermaid. I was soon singing away at the top of my voice and Chris was in his element playing the piano.
'Wow, that was ace!', I said. 'You're amazing!'
'What about you?', he said arching an eyebrow at me.
'What about me?', I asked very confused.
'Your voice Luce, it's so good!', he said with glee.
'Oh shut up', I said embarrassed. I had never thought I could sing, but I loved doing it.
'Start believing in yourself', he said getting up and enveloping me in his arms, kissing me on the top of my head. 'You've got a beautiful voice.'
Ok, thank you', I said snuggling into him. Dodger started jumping about so Chris and I separated and Chris let him out to do his business. I just leaned on the piano and started humming Easy by The Commodores. Chris made his way back over and started playing the same I was humming.
'Show off', I said with a grin as I started singing again.
