*Another short chapter but I really love it!*
The next few days flew by. We went on a couple of hikes, had pizza with Scott from Chris' favourite place 'Leone's', went to see his Mum again and met his two sisters and their kids. It was so nice and I felt myself getting more and more relaxed.
All too soon it was Saturday and I had to start packing my stuff up ready for my early morning flight the following day. I was sat on Chris' bed gathering up my stuff that had slowly made it's way into his room. I lay down and rolled over so my face landed on his pillow. I inhaled his scent and sighed. I really didn't want to go home.
'Luce, everything ok?', I heard Chris say and the bed dip next to me.
'I don't wanna leave', I said lifting my head up and then letting it drop back down. Chris rubbed my back and let out a massive sigh.
'I don't want you to leave either', he said.
'Really?', I said sitting up to face him. He looked really sad.
'Of course I don't want you to leave Luce. I love having you here with me. I'm gonna miss you so much', he said scuffing his feet on the carpet and rubbing the back of his head. I'd noticed he did this when he felt embarrassed.
'Do we need to have the talk?', I asked sitting up and sitting cross legged facing Chris. I had been dreading the long distance talk but it needed to be had.
'I think we do. Ok, so we just try and work stuff out. We can still chat every day over messages and video chats right? And I'm sure I can come and see you, and maybe you could fly out here again?', he looked hopeful.
'Yeah sure. I mean it will depend on work commitments and money but we can make this work right?', I asked feeling apprehensive. I started playing with the duvet cover. Chris lifted my chin up so I was staring into his beautiful pools of blue.
'We're definitely gonna make this work Luce, we've got to!', he said waving his arms around dramatically and getting a little louder.
'Chris, chill, we will. We'll do everything we can ok?', I said trying to calm him down. He seemed to be getting anxious. I placed my hand on his chest and his heart seemed to be racing. 'Chris, are you ok?', I asked concerned stroking his face with my other hand.
'Yeah, um, the thing is...', he trialled off.
'Chris, what is it?', he seemed really serious and it was starting to worry me. I'd seen how worked up he'd got when we left the tattoo place and it was ten times worse now. I took both my hands and covered his with mine.
'Listen Luce, umm, the thing is...', he awkwardly said removing one of his hands and stroking his beard.
'Chris, you can tell me anything, spit it out, you're worrying me.'
'I'm falling for you', he simply said. He lowered his head slightly and looked at me through his eyelashes with a shy smile on his face. I returned his shy smile.
'You too huh?', I said. He lifted his head and broke out in the cutest grin I'd ever seen. I was so relieved he felt the same way. I hadn't told him the full extent of it, but I was completely besotted with him. I had fallen already.
He leaned over, cupping my face and placing a sweet kiss on my lips.
'Now I really don't wanna leave!', I said resting my forehead on his.
'Tell me about it!', he said letting out a frustrated chuckle.
