Chapter 5

~Sydney's Pov~

What have I gotten myself into? why the fuck would I agree to go to that barbecue later?

"Hey mom do you need anything from the store?" I yell from the living room.

"Yeah can you get some milk and cereal please." she yells back.

"Sure I'll be back in an hour." I say.

"Alright."

I grab my backpack and skateboard, and walk out the door. I went to the nearest skatepark and skated around for about 30 minutes. I was on my way to the store when I ran into a tall guy, he had dirty blonde hair, and grayish bluish eyes.

He was cute.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." I say apologetically.

"It's, a beautiful girl like you can bump into me whenever you want. " The guy flirts as my cheeks turned a bright pink.

It was a bad pick up line but I'll applaud for the effort.

"I'm luke by the way." He sticks his hand out for me to shake. "Sydney." I smiled shaking his hand.

"I uh, I better get going."I say looking at my feet.

"Oh okay, yeah, I should too it was nice meeting you." he says, I smile at him and start skating away.

"Wait, Sydney hold up." he calls out making me stop. he walks over to me and handed me a small piece of paper. "here's my number, give me a call sometime."

"I will." I smile.

After that I skate towards the store, I get what I needed to get, and go back home.

When I got home I put the milk and cereal in the kitchen and went up to my room to change into a bikini, black shorts, and a white tank top, I put my hair into a bun and put my converse on. once I was ready I waited for my sisters to finish getting ready. While waiting I played video games with Shawn.

After about 30 minutes of waiting all my sisters finally came down and we left. Shawn knocked on the door and Ross answered it.

"Hey guys, you ready to have some fun?!" Ross says excitedly. "Of course." Sarah smiles as we all walk in.

We all walked into the house and to the backyard. I was talking to Rydel when a hand grabbed mine, I turned around and it was Ross.

"We talk to you for a second." he asks nervously. "Sure what's up?" I ask giving him a small smile.

"Why are you ignoring me?" He asks sympathetically.

"Excuse me?" I ask confused. "I'm not ignoring you, I was having a conversation with your sister."

"Come on Sydney I know it's you, my best friend, the girl that I know since birth, the one that shares the same birthday." he says making me roll my eyes. That's what all of this is about?

"I'm sorry you might be mistaking me for someone else." I say denying the truth. I know this is going to backfire but a girl can dream.

"If you're not the girl I'm talking about can I see that necklace of yours?" He asks with a smirk, pointing to the one he gave me.

I clutched the necklace that was around my neck in my hand. "I don't have to prove anything to you."
