Crazy stupid love

Chapter 52

Ross has been getting better. It's been a week since he woke up and he's been back home for 3 days now. School started a week and a half ago but since Ross was in the hospital I didn't want to leave him. Now that he's all better I have to go.

"Do you have to leave?" He asks as we lay in his room just enjoying each other's presence.

"Yeah. I already missed a week and a half." I move his hair, that is now parted in the middle, out of his face.

"Then I'll go with you-" I cut him of by shaking my head.

"As much as I'd love that, you can't. You have to recover from this." I rub the healing marks on his wrist. "And you have your career here."

"Then stay for at least the end of the month." He pleaded. "I really wish I could Ross but I can't. We have to continue on with our lives." I say looking down at our intertwined hands.

"I get it. I have to ask you something." I look up at him and nod for him to continue.

"Would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow night before you leave on Sunday?" I smile the biggest I've smiled in a long time and nod my head.

"I'll pick you up at 6." He presses his lips to mine.

Here's the thing every since Ross woke up and we had that talk we've been acting different. We kiss and stuff but aren't a couple. As a matter of fact I don't really know what we are. I just know I don't ever want to be without him. I guess we'll find out what we are tomorrow but for now I just want to enjoy his company before I leave in 3 days.

~Next morning~

I woke up today at around 11:45. I quickly take a shower and get dressed. I put on blue skinny jeans, a white cropped tee, all white converse and then wrapped a white and blue flannel around my waist. I brushed my dirty blonde hair leaving it in its natural waves and then put the locket Ross got me for our 13th birthday.

After I thought I was ready I grabbed my skate board and headed to the park. I was meeting up with Casey to hangout and catch up a bit. Since she goes to UCLA I don't see her as often as I used to.

"Hey syd." She hugs me. "how are things going?" She ask as we sit on a bench. "Good I guess. I'm- is it bad that he had to do something stupid for me to want him back. now more then ever."

"It's perfectly fine. Stop hitting yourself over it. He's happy, you're happy. What else matters?" She gives my hand a light squeeze.

"I just don't want him to do that again. It hurts to know that he was close to dying because of me." my eyes water up and I can't help but let a few tears fall.

"Tonight you have a date. Make the best of it and don't let anything get in the way of your happiness. Ok? You guys made a mistake now it's time to fix it." She whips the tears that have fallen from my eyes and gives me a hug.

After hanging out with Casey for a little longer I went home to get wait for Ross to pick me up.

It's now 4 o'clock meaning I have 2 hours to spare. I took this time to do some last minute school work that Luke was so generous to email me.

~2 hours later~

"Syd!! Ross is here!!" Sky calls from downstairs.

"Be there in a sec!" I yell back. I grab my bag and fix my hair a little before walking downstairs.

"Woah, Syd you look woah." His month dropped when he saw me. "Hey kid close your mouth you'll swallow a bug." Sky lifted his chin to close his mouth and I giggled.

"Have fun and Ross don't bring her home to late. Syd if you're staying over call please. Thanks."

"Ok mom." I laugh and shake my head she rolls her eyes and walks upstairs.

"Shall we." Ross smiles reaching for my hand. I nodded and we walked to his new black Mercedes Benz. He got it for his birthday.

"You look absolutely stunning." he opens the passenger door for me and kisses my lips. He then walks over to his side and gets in.

"So where are we headed." I ask as he starts driving. "It's a surprise." He smiles without taking his eyes off the road. I roll my eyes playfully And sing along softly to the song on the radio.

After 20 minute of driving around. We arrived to the beach. Ross got out the car me following him. He grabbed my hand and lead me towards a lit path. In the end was a projector and two chairs. (Picture this as the scene in teen beach 2 when Brady gives Mack sunglasses)

"How do you always come up with the best dates?" I look up at him. "I don't. To be honest half the time it's Rydel's ideas. This one is mine 100% though."We walk towards the chairs and sit down.

"I know we didn't have a full year of being a couple because of the small break we took over the summer. But this was us from the moment you kissed me and said yes until the day we broke up because of that stupid fight I regret so much." He turn on the projector and pictures and videos start rolling of us.

"Ross its beautiful." I smile at him.

"I know this is really sudden and you're leaving in three days but Sydney I love you and I know you think that what I did was your fault but baby it's not. ok? Syd I heard everything you told me when you found me laying on my bathroom floor. I heard what you said everyday in the hospital. I know you stayed that whole week only going home to shower And I'm sorry I put you through all of it. You told me that night that you were sorry about everything you did and I'm asking you now if we can start over. Just start from scratch. Syd will you be my girlfriend?" He hands me a sunflower. My favorite flower.

"Yes. Of course." I throw myself at him and press my lips to his in full force. "I love you so much." I say hugging him tightly.
