I was strumming my guitar to Sydney's favorite tune when I heard shifting. I looked up and my beautiful girlfriend was opening her eyes.
"Hi my love." I smiled brightly putting my guitar down and grabbing her hand. She looks up at me and gives me a confused look.
"Ross? What are you doing here?" She says in a barely audible voice. "What do you mean babe? I've been here since I woke up from the accident." Why would she ask that? she knows I wouldn't leave her. "Why are you calling me babe? I know we are best friends and all but I don't think that's cool." She says and I furrow my eyebrows. "What do you mean? I'm your boyfriend."
She was about to say something when the doctor walked in. "Ah Sydney, hello I'm Dr.Martinez. How are you feeling?" He asked her. "My head is pounding but besides that I feel good." she responds and he nods. He looks back at me motion me to leave so that's exactly what I do.
I sit in the waiting room thinking of why she was so distant. Did I do something before the accident that I don't remember?
After a while the Dr.Martinez comes out and sighs. "I have some good news and some bad news."
"What's wrong?" Shawn says before I can even speak. "The good news is that Sydney woke up. The bad news is that she has retrograde amnesia. She doesn't remember anything of the past 2 years." He says and I am left speechless.
"Is that why she doesn't remember me as her boyfriend?" I ask and he nods. "In order to get her memory back you may have to show her pictures , anything that can help her remember what she has forgotten. If you'd like you may go see her." He says and walks away.
