In a vet's office, Tara and Shekhar stand on either side of the bed Bo is lying on. They are petting the dog in his last moments before he went to sleep. Shekhar had become extremely close to the old bloodhound after Tara left for London. This was a difficult loss for him too.
The vet walks into the office and greets the two of them, 'There are a couple of forms you need to sign Mr. Rathore' he said, handing Shekhar a clipboard.
'How are you going to do it?' Tara asked as Shekhar signed the last of the forms, before the procedure.
'We'll give Bo an injection of terazole to make him sleep, then we'll give an I.V. injection of phenobarbital, that'll stop his heart' The vet explained to the two of them.
Tara sighed and looked at the dog, 'Okay'.
'Shall we begin?' the vet asked as he prepped the IV and injection.
Tara stopped him and looked at Shekhar, 'No, no.... what are we going to do with.... Bo's body? After...' she couldn't bring herself to utter the words.
The vet intervened, 'The hospital has means to dispose of it for you' he said respectfully.
Shekhar raised his hand, Bo was family, they wouldn't abandon him, 'No, he was our dog and he was a good dog' he choked and petted the dog. 'We can bury him in the estate' he said firmly.
Tara looked at her father tearfully, then at the dog, 'Under the Cherry Blossom, by the pond, with Tej and Ayesha, that's where he'd want to be' she said.
Shekhar nods with a smile, 'Under the 1968 Cherry Blossom it is'.
'Are you ready?' The vet asked them.
'Yeah' Tara breathed and bent down, cuddling the dog. 'I love you, Bo. It's okay. It's going to be over soon' she whispered to the dog and pressed her head against his. Shekhar and Tara held their beloved best friend as the vet administered the injection to Bo. Tara breathed heavily, as she kissed the dog's head and stroked his long ears.
After a few moments, the vet takes his stethoscope, placing it on the dog's chest, 'He's gone'.
........
In the estate lawn, under the 1968 Cherry Blossom, everyone has their head bowed down for a moment of silence and prayer for Bo. When no one is looking, Tara kneels down and takes an engagement ring out of her pocket. She digs a small scoop of dirt and buries the ring in the dirt. She stares at the patch of dirt where Bo is buried, for a while in deep thought. She then stands up and turns back to the Manor, leaving her past behind.
.......
In the morning, at the Rathore Manor, in Tara and Mycroft's bedroom. Mycroft is in the shower, outside Tara hangs a towel for him and enters the bedroom. She stops to look at the TV with a pensive expression. The bedroom television is on and playing the news of Minister Shekhawat's recent health crisis and subsequent resignation.
Tara walks off and sits down at the dressing table. She starts to apply make-up on her face. She brushes powder on her cheek, then applies lipstick. She spritzes perfume on her wrists.
'Mycroft, I am leaving. I'll see you at the office' she yelled as she gathered her stuff and started to leave.
'Wait! There is something in my nightstand drawer for you' Mycroft yelled back from the shower.
Tara furrowed her brows and walked to Mycroft's nightstand. She opens the drawer and finds a small gift box inside it. She picks it up and opens the box. The box contains a beautifully crafted, expensive yet simple watch by Cartier. It suits her taste and style.
