Chapter fourty

Smoke's pov

Juice and I have talked about trying again for a baby. I'm excited. We are going to the doctor first to see how things are.

While at the opponent, we found out I never should have been pregnant in the first place. That I got lucky to even carry the baby for six months. They also said I'm not able to conceive ever again.

"I'm sorry." I say as the doctor walks out.

"Baby this isn't your fault. We will get through this my love. We're strong and we have each other. We have each other and that is what matters." Juice says.

"Yes." I say.

"Ride or die babe." He says.

"Ride or die babe." I say.

Later we went back to TM. We see mom.

"How are the two of you?" She asks.

"I'm tired." Juice says.

"Me too." I say.

"How'd the doctor go?" She asks.

I then her and then she walked away. I'm pretty sure she knows what we did. She is never short with me.

"I could really use some advice from another female. I'm sorry babe." I say.

"It's okay sweetheart." He says.

"I'm gonna go talk to Lyla." I say.

He nods and I walked away.

I went and found her.

"Hey can we talk?" I ask.

"Sure thing." She says as we sit.

"So I saw the doctor today, to see how things are." I say.

"What did they say?" She asks.

"Not what Juice and I wanted to hear." I say.

Lyla then took my hand.

"What happened?" She asks.

"I can't ever get pregnant again. They also said I never should have been pregnant with Jaunita. They said it's why I miscarried her." I say.

"I'm so sorry Smoke." She says.

"My eggs are useless. I've always wanted a baby but after what's happened.. it's okay. They say if it's meant to be it will be. I'm not meant to be a mommy and that is okay." I say.

Lyla and I hugged.

Later

It's night and only Chibs, Juice, and I are at TM.

"What's going on?" Juice and I ask.

"I'm a bit worried about the both of you." He says.

"We're okay." Juice says.

"No, no, no. Not how you two are. I'm worried about what the both of you may do." He says.

I look at Chibs confused.

"What do you mean?" I ask him.

"I'm not sure what you mean." Juice says.

"The both of you stole from us and it was to help a cop." He says.

"No, Miles tried to kill Smoke." Juice says.

"The both of you ratted." He says.

This does not feel good.

"Then you took a cowardly swing from a tree." He says to Juice.

I looked to my feet.

"We didn't mean to hurt the club." I say looking back up at him.

"But the both of you did and for some reason Jax gave the both of you a pardon. There isn't a thing I can do. I've got to get right somehow." He says.

Oh shit.

Chibs pov

I then took a swing at Juice and when he fell back I looked to Smoke. I didn't wanna hit her so I just shoved her to the ground.

Smoke's pov

When Chibs pushed me to the ground I landed on my back hard. I sat up and began crying. I pulled my knees to my chest and cried harder.

Later

Chibs is doctoring Juice's face and I'm drinking whiskey straight from the bottle.

Next day

I woke up, went to the bar, sat on a stool, and laid my head on the bar.

Not long after I see Happy come and sit by me.

"Hey Hap." I say.

"You got enough to drink last night?" He asks.

"No I didn't." I say.

"You completely finished your whiskey and drank a second bottle." He says as I sit up.

"I know." I say.

There was a silence.

"Lyla told me what the doctor said. I'm so sorry Smoke." He says.

"It's not meant to be Hap. Plus baby girl is in a better place." I say.

He then put his hand on my shoulder.

"I'm still here for you." He says.

I smile.

"Thanks Hap." I say.

He smiled as well.

"I'm also here for you too." I say.

"I know." He says.

Another silence.

"It's gonna get better." He says.

"It will. Just takes time." I say.

"You know it's okay to be upset." He says.

I nodded.
