Rhea's POV:

I went home after a very long day. I had 8 emergency surgeries today. So I was dead tired. My eyelids felt heavy. I just wanted to hibernate into sleep. I reached my home at 8.

But my amazing fate had other plans as my parents decided to drop a bomb on my head.

"Mom can I get some water." I yelled exhausted as I entered my home. Throwing my things on the couch beside me I sat with a sigh of relaxation. I closed my eyes and laid back and put my legs on the table in front of me.

This feels so good.

I heard some muffled murmurs and the clink of glass. The seat beside me dipped indicating somebody sat beside me. I opened my eyes with difficulty and saw that dad was sitting beside me and mom opposite me. I just smiled weakly at them and drank the water. When I again laid my head back my dad massaged my temple. I relaxed in his touch. I kept my head on his lap he just smiled at me and massaged slowly. I smiled back at him and closed my eyes.

"Rhea we wanted to say you something." My mom started. Her voice was different but I didn't notice it and distractedly said go ahead as Dad's magical massage was pulling me into sleep.

"We want you to marry Aarav." Mom said suddenly.

I snapped my eyes open at the m-word and Aarav.

I didn't know whether I was more shocked about marriage or Aarav being my groom.

I knew this was going to happen but not this soon.

I instantly sat straight and looked at mom to see whether I heard it right but she had an earnest expression and my dad too gave me a small smile squeezing my hands in assurance.

I sat there frozen on my seat not knowing what to say. I stared at my mom then dad and back at mom.

"Rhea it's for the best. You knew this was going to happen." Mom softly said sitting beside me.

"But...mom..." I opened my mouth to protest but only to close after a few seconds.

I didn't have anything to say in defence.

"Today Raj asked for your hand as Aarav's bride. And you know how much I and Ranju wanted this. To see each other children get married." Mom said her voice cracking at the end.

I am not ready for this.

"But mom I don't want to marry him." I whined like a kid who was forced to study.

"He will be the best husband you could get Rhea." Dad said.

Best husband my foot.

His day will not get fulfilled if he doesn't torture me for one day. I am damn sure about it.

"You both will be best for each other. Aarav as accepted too." I knew that denying marry Aarav will backfire as my parents are firm with the decision.

"Do you like anyone else, Rhea? If so we can talk to Raj about it." Dad asked.

"What- no dad I don't like anyone. It's just that I don't want to marry now." By now the headache that disappeared came back with even more force.

I don't want to do this.

"Please do it for us." Mom asked with hope in her eyes. I looked at my dad to see the same pleading eyes.

They have never asked me anything or denied me anything. They even also did not force me into anything.
