I found myself awaiting him. And that was concerning for a multitude of reasons. Mainly because I was awaiting him.
I don't do that. I don't wait for boys who give me cryptic statements, like a juvenile.
But there I was, tapping my foot against the roof underneath me, telling myself that his statement was probably just a joke. A nicety. And even so, I shouldn't be impatiently waiting like a kid. It was only midnight.
God, I shouldn't be getting hung up on boys at all. Seriously not in my plans, at all.
"Loser. You're a loser." I mumbled to myself while crawling back through my window. I jumped in, tossing my phone onto my bed and just as I was about to sit at my desk, intending to start on some biology notes, the pinging of my phone echoed against the walls.
I groaned at how I'd just sat down on my desk, standing up again and grabbing my phone. My eyebrows furrowed.
Unknown: Running away as soon as I get here?
I squinted only for realisation to dawn on me. I looked up and then back down to my phone, quickly standing up and walking over to my window.
And there he fucking was.
Leaning against the streetlight with his lips tugging upwards just the slightest as I made an appearance. He looked gorgeous, as much as I tried not to focus on it. A black hoodie with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
I slid my fingers under the bottom of the window, using my strength to pull it up with how heavy it was. I got it open, resting my forearms on the windowsill and leaning my weight onto them lazily.
"Stranger." I acknowledged and he stepped forward languidly until he was below me.
"Stranger? I prefer fuckface. Or big ol' bodybuilder, even." He jutted out a shoulder.
"Fuckface takes the cake." I nodded.
"Can you get down here? I'm gonna freeze my mighty dick off." He complained and I tugged my lips down.
"Am I just supposed to just run off into the night with you, Hernandez?" I perused, crossing my forearms on the windowsill. Silent night surrounded us, deep darkness.
"You could stay in there, in your room and not be able to sleep. Or come with me and not be able to sleep." He proposed and despite how I knew I'd go with him, I teased.
"The former sounds pretty nice-"
"Or, I walk right in. I'm sure Mrs Romano would love to meet me." His lips split into a smirk.
My eyes widened. He grinned, without me saying anything. Luca and Everest, both, looked like the absolute opposite of what you'd want to present to your mother. Especially Luca with his air of lethal darkness. Sort of terrifyingly hot.
I turned away from him, picking up my phone from my desk. When pulling open my door, I ensured being extra discreet than usual, knowing mum was awake. Creeping down the stairs was a difficult feat.
I managed to tiptoe down the hallway and just as I'd passed the doorway to the living room, in which mum resided, with the back door in sight and so nearly in my grasp, my name rang out.
"Ria."
I just froze, my logic being hopefully if I'm quiet enough for a long amount of time, she'll forget I was ever there.
"Get your ass back here, sweetheart." She said after a moment and I groaned, back-pedalling until I was faced with the door of the living room and the couch she sat on.
