To say I was nervous would be the biggest understatement of the year. I can't wait for what's about to happen but at the same time I'm so worried that if this goes wrong we will have ruined everything we have built on the last 6 months
This could be the end, but it could also be the start of something magical

I smiled finalising the final details and checking over how I looked, before heading out of the door
I walked down to the end of the corridor to see James stood there waiting with a nervous look on his face. I chuckled as I got closer
When I was a mere few feet away, he looked up and the worry that was once on his face had been replaced with a smile
"Hey" I smiled looking at him
"Hey" I replied hugging me
"You ready to go?" I asked, making him chuckle
"i've never been more ready in my life" He replied opening the front door for me

We continued to walk the streets of the city, allowing the noise and rush of it fill our silence as we walked with our hands intertwined
"Here we are" James smiled opening the door to a restaurant
We were soon seated at a booth in the back with an amazing view of the city, you could see people walking around, people talking, cars rushing past. The city night life finally erupting
"This place is nice" I replied looking over the menu
"The last time I went here was when I found out I got into the Academy" James smiled thinking of the memory
"Do your family come here often?" I asked and he smiled again
"not as much as we used to. Now everyone is busy with their lives" he answered
"But I knew this place would be perfect for tonight" He smiled taking my hand into his

"It's simple really Natalie, if you hold it like that and twist!" James laughed trying to explain how he easily spins the spaghetti onto his fork
"That's so weird" I laughed
"It's not! It's the normal way to eat it unlike you spoon method where most of it falls off" He said still in fits of laughter
"Hey! My method works mister" I argued making him roll his eyes
"Try it please" He whined, I rolled my eyes this time picking up my fork
I began to twist it into the pasta and to my surprise it was a lot easier then doing my spoon method
"Go on, tell me I didn't just change your life" He smirked
"you didn't just change my life" I replied making him narrow his eyes at me
"don't lie" he answered and with that I had no comeback for a change

Dinner was amazing, the pasta was incredible but the pudding, oh the pudding will forever have a special place in my heart
We were now walking around Central Park and it was magical, it was light up with beautiful warm lights everywhere
There were plenty of people here, some relaxing on the grass, others walking around like us
We continued on our stroll until we came across a guy playing his guitar. James turned to me and smiled earning a confused look from me
"What are you doing?" I asked as he took both my hands into his pulling me in close
"We are going to dance" He smiled spinning me around causing a bigger crowd to surround us
I laughed as we continued spinning
"This is crazy" I laughed as James brought me up from a dip
"How about we call it spontaneous?" He chuckled as we continued to do some more moves, until the music came to an end
Everyone began to clap putting more money in the mans hat. At least we did a good dead
We looked back at the guy and smiled before continuing on our walk
"That was pretty cool" James chimed with an additional kick in his step
"yeah it was" I smiled as he spun me around again making me laugh
If i had known that James could make me feel like this the first day I met him, I would have called you crazy but right now.. in this moment.. I don't have a shadow of a doubt about how I feel

"I want to take you somewhere" James said gripping my hand tighter as he started to run, causing me to trail behind
"Where are we going?" I asked as we ran deeper into the park
It was pretty secluded back here but it was sweet, there were a few bandstands, some benches and all the lights back here were little lanterns. Giving it a cosier vibe
"What is this?" I asked as he stopped at a set of trees
"You'll see" He smiled back at me as we stopped in front of one particular tree
This tree was fully bloomed and looked huge but engraved into the wood was two very specific things
The first read : Caiden and James 2010
I smiled reading it, this was clearly something that meant a lot to the pair of them
"That is cute" I smiled before reading the second one
Caiden and Ellie 2017
Well hey I now know how long they have been dating
"They carved their names into the tree?" I asked
Is it bad part of me was surprised to find Jess' name wasn't there
"Yeah it became a tradition that we do it with people we are serious about" James smiled
"Then why isn't Jess' name here?" I smirked making him glare at me as I leant against the tree
"Because I've never seen Jess in that way, she has and always will be a friend but that is as far as it'll go" He replied placing his hand above my head to support himself
"You on the other hand Natalie" He smiled leaning in a little bit sending my heart into flutters
"I don't think anyone could make me feel the way you do" He smiled before gently pressing his lips against mine, I smiled into the kiss before wrapping my hands around neck as his free hand found it's way to my waist
"In case you didn't get that, that was me asking if you'd be my girlfriend" He sheepishly asked making us both laugh, I didn't answer him instead I kissed him again

Tonight has been the pure definition of perfect, nothing could ruin it. James had walked me to my dorm as I watched him head to his
I smiled to myself before opening my door
As soon as I opened the door, that when I realised I was wrong.. There was something that could ruin it and best be sure it did ruin it
"Dad" I breathed out seeing him sat on my bed putting things into a suitcase..
