Summary:
The gentle giant, Gouda Takeo (Eguchi Takuya) is as friendly as one can be, but is extremely unlucky when it comes to love. Any girls that Gouda takes an interest in end up falling for his handsome friend, Sunakawa Makoto (Shimazaki Nobunaga). Despite their uneven looks, the two remain good friends. One day, Gouda stops a molester and saves Yamato Rinko (Han Megumi) from an unfortunate morning. Naturally, Gouda falls for Yamato. Will trends repeat themselves again, or will Gouda finally receive reciprocal love as an unlikely romantic comedy protagonist?
Own opinion:
In a typical shoujo manga the usual male protagonists is a smoking hot guy but this show destroyed that kind of cliche tradition. Having seen many a romantic comedy, the setup for this show is definitely fresh. Gouda, with his big build and large lips isn’t really mainstream appealing, but his character sure is a riot. Such a setup opens up a lot of possibilities for the show, and with two-cours planned, I can’t wait to see the romance unravel. I’m already on board as a romantic comedy fan, but others should check out the series as well if you’re looking for a mixup in the romantic comedy genre. Ah and one more thing, there's still a handsome guy so don't worry. :)
