Summary:

Kokkuri is a Japanese table-turning variant once believed to have been a communication with the spirits, but has since fallen out of fashion. That is, until Ichimatsu Kohina (Hirohashi Ryou), an unwaveringly deadpan little girl, performs the ritual with the intent of summoning a spirit. And a spirit she gets, in the form of a white-haired, fox-eared young man. This Kokkuri-san (Ono Daisuke) initially intends to haunt Kohina like a good spirit should, but takes pity on her self-abusive lifestyle in which she subsists only on cup ramen. He is reluctantly roped into Kohina’s surreal lifestyle to serve as an ad hoc housekeeper. But Kohina is hardly going to be satisfied with just one spirit. Expect other supernaturals to join the fun, including creatively named characters like racoon-themed Shigaraki (Nakata Jouji) and dog youkai Inugami (Hirohashi Ryou). And more! Needless to say, hijinks ensue.

Own opinion:

Guys by the way this is no.3 in my list. Who can not be curious in this anime? A chibi girl surrounded by bishounen guys. She's the most luckiest girl! From the looks of it there are plenty of opportunities for black humour, though whether they’ll be fully capitalised on remains to be seen. Not that Kokkuri-san necessarily needs to buck the norm to be good—the staff is surprisingly solid with a seasoned voice cast (lead by Ono Daisuke, still eternally typecasted as good-looking young men). Perhaps the seiyuu talent is indicative of a strong character focus—you don’t need much more than a zany cast forced to interact with each other to produce comedy. If you’re in the mood for laughs from the occult this fall, then Gugure! Kokkuri-san is your ticket.
