Summary:
If there ever was a show that could get the waterworks flowing with a simple yet sad premise, One Week Friends is that show. On a quiet high school rooftop, Hase Yuki (Yamaya Yoshitaka) and Fujimiya Kaori (Amamiya Sora) are two friends who are trying to fight against a cruel twist of fate – a messed up scenario where Fujimiya loses all memories of the bonds and connections she's made with anyone outside her family after just one week. But even with such adversity staring straight at them, Hase decides to become the anchor that may one day bring Fujimiya's memories back. Until then, he's determined to start every week with a very simple but heartwarming question: Will you be my friend?
Own opinion:
This is the one show I've been dying to watch ever since I saw the PV. From the few chapters I read (because I didn't want to spoil myself too much), I could feel the tears building up toward the end of the first chapter, and couldn't help but start letting them flow by the end of the second. If you're on the fence about this show, let me guarantee that if you're looking for an emotionally heavy experience that uses the amnesia trope effectively and not as a crutch, you'll be pleasantly surprised. make sure to be ready for the feels! I'm telling you, its such a beautiful show.
