#32 Calling all fujoshi!! (Yaoi recommendations)

I just had to do this. I had losed my patience. I had planned to review this genre in the last chapters of anime guide but i couldn't take it anymore. I'm very very sorry.

So~

ITS HERE!! To all FUJOSHI OUT THERE!! Its FINALLY HERE!! A yaoi/shounen ai chapter!!

Before i start i want to warn all the people out there who are not yaoi lovers.

Okay enough with the chitchat and let's get over with this! I didn't want to recommend hardcore yaoi anime so I picked two heart-warming yaoi/shounen ai shows that i loved. This two shows is also commonly watched by people who are not fujoshi. I hope you like it guys!

Randomness #32

Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi

Genre: Yaoi/Shounen Ai, romance, comedy

Episodes: 2 seasons both have 12 episodes, 2 OVA, 1 movie

Manga: 8 volumes, status ongoing

Opening song:  Sekai de Ichiban Koishiteru by Shuhei Kita, Sekai no Hate ni Kimi ga Itemo by Shuhei Kita

Ending song: Ashita Boku wa Kimi ni Ai ni Iku by Wakaba, Aikotoba by Sakura Merry-Men

Summary:

Ritsu Onodera, a literary editor, resigns from his father's publishing company, due to his coworkers' jealousy of his success, claiming that he is simply riding his father's coattails. He applies for a position at Marukawa Publishing in order to move away from his father's shadow, but instead of his preferred department of literature he is placed in the infamous shōjo manga department, Emerald. He initially considers resigning, especially because he finds his new boss, Masamune Takano, intolerable and unnerving from the very beginning; however, Takano inadvertently convinces Onodera to stick with the job by calling him "useless," his pride forcing him to stay in order to prove his worth. Later, Onodera learns that Takano's old family name was Saga, and that he was an older schoolmate from high school that Onodera fell in love with and confessed to. It turns out Takano still has feelings for Onodera, and he tells him he will make him fall in love with him again. The series shows how Takano slowly achieves this goal, and the obstacles the two face.

There are also two other couples in this show; their stories are shown in later episodes. The characters follow Onodera's fellow editors: Hatori and his longtime friend (and manga artist he's in charge of) Yoshino, as well as Kisa and the attractive bookstore employee he has his eye on, Yukina.

Own Opinion

At first I was really scared if I was allowed to watch yaoi/shounen ai anime because I was only 13 years old. But when I saw the trailer of this anime I was rest assured. I bought a cd of the season one and downloadd the season two. It was different to what I had thought. I thought two guys in a relationship is only about … well you know what I mean. But it was different, it was like any other love stories out there. It was cute and heart warming that brings butterflies in my stomach. The only thing that different is they have the same gender and its not bad. So guys I’m assuring you! Your purity will not be distroyed if you watch this. Think of it like another shoujo love stories. :3

Next is a little serious love story.

Junjou Romantica

Genre: Yaoi/Shounen Ai, romance, comedy, drama

Episodes: 2 seasons both have 12 episodes, 1 OVA

Manga: 18 volumes, status ongoing

Opening song: Kimi=Hana by Pigstar, Shōdō by Pigstar

Ending song: Baby Romantica by Sript, Aioi -Aioi by Juned.

Summary:

Junjou Romantica: Takahashi Misaki is suddenly having some unexpected and odd problems. What started as a need for some college entrance exam tutoring has somehow led him to being romanced by a suave older man who also happens to be his big brother’s best friend. Confused by all of his brand new emotions, Misaki struggles to deal with his suddenly very odd life. And if that wasn’t enough, his suitor, Usami Akihiko, has plenty of issues of his own. A man-child who decorates his room in giant teddy bears and toys, Usami is a famous novelist who also writes steamy boys’ love novels on the side. When Misaki cracks open one of these books and reads sentences like “Usami licks every inch of Misaki’s hot body”…well, let’s just say that all hell breaks loose. they soon become lovers.

Junjou Egoist: Kamijou Hiroki is a broken man, consumed by unrequited love for his childhood friend, Usami Akihiko (the boys' love novelist). Along comes Kusama Nowaki, whose name "Nowaki" means "typhoon", an orphan working his way through life since middle school. Like the typhoon he is named for, he whirls into Hiroki's life and heart, blowing all resistance away before him.

Junjou Terrorist: As fate would have, Miyagi You (the professor that Kamijou Hiroki works for as an assistant professor) and Takatsuki Shinobu, Miyagi’s boss’ son AND his ex-wife’s younger brother, would cross paths. Shinobu, who says whatever’s on his mind, tries to break into Miyagi’s world, saying things like, “its destiny!” While the 18 year-old tries to invade Miyagi’s world, the 35 year-old still harbors a deep-rooted love for his late teacher. Being the Terrorist he is, Shinobu breaks down the walls that Miyagi has caged himself in, dramatically changing the Professor’s heart and demanding Miyagi take responsibility and face destiny

Own Opinion:

Well compare to sekai ichi hatsukoi junjou romantica is more on the serious side. With all the drama and stuff.  Maybe this is the best yaoi show that I have ever watched. I think you should watch this first before watching sekai ichi hatsukoi because this anime is made first and also it was made by the same manga artist. If you are more into cuteness watch sekai ichi but when you’re into serious love life well not too serious, you need to watch this. And by the way great news guys! JUNJOU ROMANTICA WILL HAVE A SEASON THREE!! WOOO!! We can see usagi-sensei again!
