Summary:
Shokugeki no Souma follows the title character, Yukihara Souma (Matsuoka Yoshitsugu), a boy whose dream has always been to become a full-time chef in his family restaurant, and one day surpass his father in his own field. However, as Souma graduates from middle school, his father announces that he’s closing down his restaurant to cook in Europe. Fortunately, this doesn’t stop Souma. Instead, it drives him to attend Totsuki Culinary Academy, a famous high school where out of all the students, only 10% graduate. It’s a place filled with famous faces, as well as those destined for success in the culinary field. It’s a school built around its hierarchy, where battles are fought to judge who is superior, and the students are never given a moment of rest, as they are constantly put through gruelling trials in hopes of attaining their cooking dreams.
Own opinion:
Okay before I start I want to say to you that this show i s a must watch! This show is number 3 in my list for upcoming anime series. Not only because I read the manga ever since it came out but also because this show consists of the two things I love. And that's food and Bishies! LOL XD really the male characters here are so cool. Specially Souma. Okay, Ahem! Back to the topic...There may not be any swords or magic in Shokugeki no Souma, but make no mistake, at its core this is still a Weekly Shonen Jump battle manga. Anyone who mistakes this as a straight-up cooking anime will be in for many surprises along the way.
And the best part about it? Equal opportunity fanservice! It’s not just the girls whose clothes burst from excitement, but the guys as well. XD Well even though this show is your typical ecchi anime the amount of fanservice is right and not overdone :) If you’re looking for an unorthodox battle anime, you should give this a shot. And if you’re looking for hilarious softcore porn, you could probably check this out as well.
