Goodbye is the absolute hardest
thing to say.
Because you have to walk away
with just a memory
and after a while, that memory fades.

MEMORY

Jin stood in the middle of the bedroom Yoongi assigned for him. After days of staying in the hospital, Yoongi decided to bring Jin to his home. He thought Jin's house would only distress Jin more.

Jin didn't want him or Hoseok inside the room while he talked to the doctors. He even denied seeing the psychiatrist Yoongi recommends. Instead, he insisted that he would see a different psychiatrist. Someone, he would choose. Worried that Jin would get angry, Yoongi agreed.

"Hoseok already brought your things. It's inside that luggage bag. Those cabinets are empty, you can organize your things according to your liking. I can ask Hoseok to help you if you like, just inform me. For now, please take a rest, or you can take a shower if you want. I will cook dinner, just tell me if you want anything. I'll just take a quick shower. I'll be right back."

Jin didn't respond. He just walked towards the bed and sat there, staring at the window overlooking the city. Yoongi was worried but he knew there's nothing he could do but to support Jin, look after him, and wait until he met with the doctor.

"Jin, we love you. Please always remember that. Alright?"

Yoongi went out of Jin's bedroom before dialing Hoseok's number. Taehyung wanted to meet with him to talk about Ahni. And he asked Hoseok to look after Jin while he was away. Though Jin wasn't complaining at all, he was more worried about Jin's silence.

After taking a shower, as quickly as he could, he checked his phone to read Hoseok's reply. Hoseok just said that he was on his way but would go by an ice cream shop to buy Jin an ice cream. Smiling, Yoongi proceeded to Jin's bedroom.

Knocking a few times, he turned the knob and was thankful Jin did not lock it. As he walked inside, he found the bed empty. He felt as if someone punched him on the chest when he turned his head on the space where he put Jin's luggage, only to find nothing.

In utter shock, as he didn't expect that Jin would leave, his hand began to tremble while dialing Hoseok's number. But while doing so, he saw a paper on top of the pillow.

Don't worry, I will be fine.
That's a promise.
Thank you for everything, Yoongi
and I am truly sorry.
Please forgive me.
All I want is for you to be happy.
Please don't look for me.
I love you.

With Jin's letter in his hand, he rushed outside, hoping Jin would still be within his apartment's vicinity, or nearby.

Jin was seated on a wooden couch inside a dimly lighted office. His eyes were wandering inside the familiar room. It hadn't changed since the last time he was there.

He could still remember accompanying his dad in that place. Part of his father's fortune was given in that orphanage. He knew how close that institution was in his father's heart. Making it more special to him. Being there brought back all the happy memories he had with his dad. The charity works they were doing together. Seeing the happiness on the children's faces. Seeing his father enjoying every second of being there. It somehow painted a small smile back on his face.

"Seokjin?"

Jin's eyes went on the door. An old woman went in, looking surprised to see someone she hadn't seen in years.
