Ransom

Chapter 1: Jason Grace

Jason and Piper ran outside the borders of camp. As they fought off a few stray monsters, Piper shrieked in pain. Jason killed the remaining monsters and turned to face his wife of seven years.

She was clutching her head in pain. Nothing appeared to be physically wrong with her, but Jason knew better than to trust that initial instinct. "Piper, what's wrong?!" He asked. Piper started to hyperventilate as she clutched her head. Jason tried to soothe her and tell her to breathe and all the rest, but to no avail.

Suddenly, Piper's hands dropped to her sides and she fell into Jason's arms.

"Pipes?" Jason breathed with a tear in his eye. She did not respond, only stared straight ahead at the sky with no expression on her face. "No!" He screamed as he cried over her body. What happened to his wife?!

Then, a hooded figure appeared and Piper's body shimmered away. "Wha-?" Jason started as he looked up to the figure. "Who are you?" He asked with wide and confused eyes.

"That doesn't matter. Let's get to the point." The figure said. She was female. "If you want Piper McLean back, give me Allie." The woman said. Jason squinted his eyes as he asked "Are you asking me to pick between my wife and my daughter?"

"No, frankly I did not know that you had a daughter." The woman responded. "Then, who?" Jason asked. "Allie White." The woman responded as if it were obvious.

Jason looked away from the woman and said "She's been dead for ten years."

"On the contrary," The woman started. Jason looked up to her with confusion and hope written on his face. "She is alive. I have my sources. Find her and bring her to me, then you shall have your wife back." The woman finished.

Then, she disappeared as suddenly as she appeared. Piper's dagger appeared next to him.

Will ran towards him and said "What happened?"

"Gather the seven in the Big House; we need to talk." Jason told him over his shoulder with his jaw set.

Will nodded, deciding not to ask questions, and ran inside the borders.

Jason stared ahead at the spot in which the anonymous woman appeared. Whoever she was, she was not good.

"What happened? Where's Piper?" Leo asked as he ran into the Big House to join the rest of the seven. "I don't know and with some mystery woman." Jason said.

The others stared at him with confusion. "We were fighting some hellhounds when she screamed and fell down. She started to hyperventilate and then she, she stopped." Jason said. The others understood what he meant by stopped. "Anyways, once she stopped, some woman appeared and said that she would give me Piper back if I gave her Allie." Jason finished.

"She asked you to pick between your wife and your daughter?" Hazel asked, her eyes wide with shock . "No, she asked me to choose between my wife and my sister." Jason responded. "What?" Percy asked him in a stern tone.

"She claims that Allie is alive." Jason told the others. "That doesn't make any sense. We watched her-" Percy started, but he cut himself off when his son ran into the Big House. "Daddy!" Luke called.

He looked to Annabeth with an exasperated look and she said "Not right now, Luke. We're having an adult discussion." Luke then said "But, it's Allie."

Everyone looked at Jason. "What about her?" He asked quietly. "She fainted." Luke said as he searched Jason's eyes for some sort of reaction. Jason jumped out of his chair and knelt next Luke. "Where is she?" He asked delicately. "By the lake, come on!" Luke called as he started to run. For an eight year old boy, Luke was pretty dam fast.

"There!" Luke said. Jason rushed forward and knelt next to his daughter. "Allie?" He asked. She was unresponsive. He put his head to her chest and listened for a heart beat. It was still there, she was just sleeping. His little girl would be alright.

Jason held his little princess in a princess-hold and brought her to the infirmary. "She just fainted." Jason explained as he sat his daughter onto an infirmary bed. Will asked "What's going on, Jason?"

"Some mystery lady kidnapped Piper and is asking for ransom." Jason whispered. "What kind of ransom?" Will asked worriedly. "My sister." Jason said absentmindedly. "Thalia?" Will asked. "No, Allie." Jason responded. "But, she's, you know." Will said.

"I know. This woman claims that she's alive." Jason responded. Will let out a big breath that he had been holding. "How's Nico?" Jason asked him. Will's face turned bright red and he responded with "How should I know?"

"You're dating him, aren't you? Been six years, remember?" Jason joked with him. If it was even possible, Will's face turned a shade darker. Jason let out a hearty laugh and said "Chill, Will."

Allie shifted in her sleep. Her face was scrunched up, but she didn't appear to be in pain. Jason pulled a chair up next to his daughter and held her hand. 'Please, let them be alright.' Jason begged the gods.

His girls were in trouble, and he was infuriated.
