Chapter 29: Sammy Zhang

Sammy didn't like the idea of having some 'fun' with the woman who possessed his body. It wasn't exactly his cup of tea.

"Sammy, don't worry, I don't have any more use of possessing you." Nyx smiled. "Wh-" Sammy started.

"I can read your thoughts, it's one of the perks of possessing someone." Nyx mused. Sammy grit his teeth together.

"If you can read my thoughts, what am I thinking right now?" Sammy asked. "Some things that I don't think that your parents would be too fond of hearing." Nyx smiled.

Sammy crossed his arms and gave her a death glare. "Don't give me attitude, young man." Nyx threatened.

"Or else what?" Sammy teased. Nyx smiled, but it was a maniacal smile that told Sammy that he had just made a big mistake.

Nyx raised her arms and held a ball of black energy. She threw it in his direction with impeccable aim. Sammy's eyes widened as he dived out of the way.

The energy hit the wall behind him, nearly touching his head. "Leave my son alone, for the thousandth time!" Hazel bellowed.

Nyx shook her head and made a ticking sound with her tongue. "No can do." Nyx said.

She turned her head to look at the Jackson family. "Hello, we meet again." She mused. "If you try anything-" Percy started through gritted teeth. Nyx cut him off and said "I already have."

Percy looked troubled by this, but at that moment, Luke was sent flying across the room. He landed with a loud thud next to Nyx's feet. "Luke!" Percy bellowed. His face showed that Nyx had made a terrible mistake.

Annabeth clutched her husband's arm to restrain him.

"Bow before me." Nyx ordered. "Never." Luke said bravely.

"I'm sorry?" Nyx asked. "I will never bow before someone as evil as you." Luke said in a deep, deadly tone, which was surprising for someone his age.

Nyx stood from her throne and kneeled before him. She grabbed his neck. The entire group gasped. Nyx stared into his eyes, and he stared into hers.

Everyone stood deathly still, not knowing what to do.

"Bow." Nyx ordered. She stood and sat atop her throne.

Luke stood and started to bow, but stopped. "What are you waiting for?" She asked.

"You think you can control me?" Luke asked with a chuckle. Now Nyx looked confused.

Luke, in one swift motion, took out his dagger and embedded it into Nyx's chest.

Nyx bellowed in pain and Luke was sent flying yet again. Percy ran forward and caught his son before he could hit the ground, and cuddled him to his chest for protection. Luke was unconscious. "I swear if you blinded him-" Annabeth said. Nyx cut her off again and said "You imbecile! You dare to attempt to kill a primordial?!"

"Yeah, he does." Allie yelled. "Al-" Piper started.

But, Allie had already started up to the throne. Piper tried to follow her, but Jason restrained her. If Piper went up there, Nyx would hurt them both.

Allie walked up to the throne and stood before the primordial goddess of the night. "My sight. Give it back." Allie demanded.

Nyx laughed and said "You think that after what you're friend just did I will give you what you want?"

"You will give me what I want," Allie said.

Then, she what she said next was barely audible. "We had a deal."

"Fine." Nyx said. Nyx held her hands over her eyes and a small spark entered Allie's eyes. The group gasped. Apparently no one else heard that last part.

Allie made a deal with Nyx? What kind of deal?

Allie turned around and faced her family. Her eyes were back to normal now. She smiled triumphantly. "Finish the deal, darling." Nyx said.

Allie strode down the stairs and stood before her parents. "What deal?"

"I'm sorry." Allie said with tears in her eyes.

She rose her arms, and any object that was in the room that wasn't a breathing person was floating. "How did you do that?" Piper asked breathlessly.

Allie aimed her arms at the rest of the group. Just as the sharp objects were about to hit them, they stopped.

"No." Allie said. She turned around and aimed the objects at Nyx. "This is what's supposed to happen."

"No!" Nyx yelled. "I give you a new power, and this is how you repay me?!" Nyx asked. "Yes." Allie said as she threw the objects at the primordial.

Nyx disappeared and the objects hit the throne, causing it to topple over.

"What is going on?!" Jason bellowed. "What have you done?!" Piper asked.

"I did what I had to!" Allie said. "Explain." Jason demanded.

"I did it to protect you guys. I made her promise to keep you safe, but apparently she backed out of the deal. I don't know, I guess I got a new power. I'm just...UGH! I'm so confused. Can we not talk about this?" Allie said.

They were all silent. "I was always going to stay on your side, and so that's why I only agreed last night. With the new power she gave me, I was planning on using it against her anyways." Allie finished after taking a deep breath.

"Then why did you try to hurt us, Allie?" Percy asked her delicately. "She said that she wouldn't hurt you guys, she said that I would have to do it." Allie answered.

There was long pause that filled the air. Allie then said "That's the main reason why we were allowed into the throne room without much of a fight. I'm sure that Nyx took her power back by now, but it doesn't matter. I didn't like it anyway."

"You're smarter than you look, kiddo." Castor said with a smile. Allie smiled gratefully at him.

"How did you think of all of this?" Annabeth asked. "Your mom blessed me when I was blinded. She said that since I might never see again and that I was smart, I deserved the blessing." Allie said.

"Athena knew of this plan?" Frank asked. "No." Allie defended.

An icy blue mist started to enter the room though the cracks in the door. Sammy stared at it intently. What was that?

No one else seemed to notice it, so Sammy followed his instincts and strode towards it.

He bent down and looked closely at the mist. It started to form a figure.

Soon, an image of a woman was made out of the mist. Sammy stood. The mist started to form into a solid, living being.

She wore the same black hood as Nyx, but she was different than Nyx was.

"Hello, my sweet child." The woman said. "I am Eris." She said.

Then, Frank turned his head around and yelled "NO!"

Sammy's father was too late, for at that moment Eris turned Sammy around so that he faced his family and held a dagger under Sammy's throat, digging into his skin.
