As Castor stabbed at Eris's hip, she kept out of the way and shot an evil glare at him. "You like to play dirty, that is another thing that we both have in common." Eris said with a snarl.
She flew at an alarming rate towards him and slammed her feet into his chest, sending him flying into the wall of his friends that stood behind him. Percy helped him stand and mumbled "Just one good hit, that's all you need."
Castor nodded and charged forward. He faked a slice at Eris's neck and instead stabbed at her heart. She dodged that by disappearing and reforming a yard farther away.
She laughed and said "You do realize that you can use your pathetic powers, right?"
A lightbulb went off in his head. He threw his sword down and raised his hands. Vines that were laced with thorns sprung from the ground and grew as tall as Hades's castle had been.
Eris looked up at them with surprise evident in her demented facial features. "I didn't think that that would work." She mumbled.
Castor thrust his hands forward and the vines obeyed his command. They wrapped themselves around Eris's body, the thorns piercing her skin. She bellowed out in pain.
"You can't kill me! I am a god!" Eris begged. "You stripped your immorality, remember?" Castor said with a triumphant smile.
He held her hood that somehow hadn't fell off during the battle and pulled it back.
Castor grabbed a fistful of her hair and looked into her eyes as he felt his waist for his sword. He turned and saw that it was on the ground about two yards away.
Allie Grace walked over to him and handed him her dagger. "Make it painful." She told him through gritted teeth while wearing a snarl.
That made Castor stutter. She was only eight years old. How could she think like this? How come all of this happened to them at such a young age? It was unfair.
He turned again to face Eris. Castor stared at her, dead in the eye, and plunged Allie's dagger into her scalp, right on the bridge of her nose.
She cried out in pain as the dagger entered her skull. Castor slowly continued to push the dagger farther into her skull until he could see the other end of it sticking out from the back of her head.
Eris's head fell limp in his hands. Castor pulled out the dagger and threw it to the ground. Eris shimmered and turned to golden ichor. Castor looked at the mess that he had made.
His eyes went wide when he realized what he had just done. "YOU!" Nyx shouted from above. In a millisecond she appeared in front of him. "You killed my favorite daughter! How could you?!" She yelled.
One of the arai looked at her mother and asked "Favorite? You said that I was your favorite."
"She said that I was her favorite." Another said. Soon, all of the arai realized how much of a liar that their own mother was.
Nyx's eyes went wide as she turned to face her children. "I love you all the same; a mother can never choose a favorite." She said.
"You just said that Eris was your favorite!" An arai screeched. "Yes, I did, but-" Nyx started. She was cut off by the arai screaming "GET HER!"
Nyx growled and shimmered away. The arai stopped dead in their tracks.
One of the arai stood face to face, nose to nose with Castor. Everyone was silent. Would she decide to attack?
"You have helped us realize how much of a liar our mother was. We thank you." She said as she backed away.
"Y-You're welcome?" Castor said, though it sounded more like a question.
"The arai will befriend any demigod that comes in contact with us. We are truly sorry for any trouble that we have caused you." She said again.
Castor raised an eyebrow. He didn't believe her. "We swear it upon the River Styx." She said.
That was the moment in which Castor realized that he had formed an alliance with the arai, and they were no longer meant to be feared.
"Thank you for your kindness." Allie White said. She walked behind Castor and rested a hand on his shoulder. "We remember you. We are so very sorry." The new leader of the arai said to her. Her head hung low in shame.
Allie took a step in front of Castor and lifted the arai's head. She then said "It's alright. It was meant to happen, in fact it was written. Demigods and your kind are meant to be enemies, so it's alright. Now that we have a new alliance formed between us, I hope that no one else will have to suffer. Let us live together in an agreement that states that one of your kind will never hurt one of us, and one of us will never hurt one of you. In any battle, you will take our side. Does that sound alright?"
The arai pondered over what Allie had proposed. Then, she said "That sounds fair. Let this be a new bond of friendship that not even death can break."
Allie smiled that beautiful, full smile of hers and said "We have just now written the fate of all demigods that shall ever encounter an arai. Do you agree to aid any demigod that comes to Tartarus?"
"We do." The arai said in unison. "Us demigods agree to never injure an arai unless it is deemed a life and death situation. I hope that this bond is not broken, even after my death and yours." Allie said. "As do I." The arai said.
Castor thought that he had seen it all, but this was something different. Allie just made a peace agreement between the arai. The arai; probably the most dangerous bread of monsters known to man. Allie really was something else...
"Soroses!" The lead arai called, "Misera mater nostra Inveniamus corium revellat!" She finished. The other arai shouted in agreement and flew off.
"What did she say?" Castor asked Allie.
Allie gave him a small, hearty laugh and said "She said: Sisters! Let us find that wretched mother of ours and rip her to shreds!"
Castor gave her a short, hearty laugh in return. They turned around and looked at the group.
They smiled triumphantly at them and started to walk forward, towards their family.
