Chapter 51 - Fred Weasley

We all stood in silence staring from each other to Mundungus and back, no one spoke and an extremely uncomfortable silence spread across the small hallway we were all still standing it. Kreacher was the first to speak, it was the first time he had made eye contact with anyone other than Selina, while he spoke he looked directly into the eyes of Harry.

"payment?" Kreacher questioned Harry, Harry raised his eyebrows trying to deduct what it was exactly Kreacher wanted. Harry glanced at Lina, after all she was possibly the only person who could understand the mind of such house elf.

"He wants a payment for collecting Mundungs"Selina said although she continued looking at Mundungs with a look of betrayal.

"Oh here, take this" Harry said slipping the fake slytherin locket off his neck and handing it to Kreacher, who seemed to be satisfied with the payment although never said thank you merely looked away from Harry and back to Selina.

Now that the attention was away from Kreacher and his desire to have an objective payment, our focus was casted onto Mundungs, he seemed shameful and a look of sorry swept across his face, although knowing Lina she wouldn't give him any justification for his actions.

"Why did you take it?!" Just as I predicted Lina asked him with a sharpened tone, she kept her wand out pointing it directly at his neck.

Mundungus shifted slightly in the grip of Dobby, who seemed to just be happy to be in the presence of Harry, he didn't once stop smiling while all the while continuing to look at Harry.

"I - I - I needed money I figured something in this house would be valuable enough, so I stole the locket I didn't realise how much power it contained, I was going to sell it in Diagon Alley, I don't have it now though" He replied, he kept his gaze casted onto the floor out, not looking at any of us.

"Liar" Selina muttered

"Im n-not lying" he replied. I glanced at Lina who looked like she was ready to fire a killing curse, I placed my hand on top of her outstretched wand, pulling it slightly downward.

"Let's just hear what he has to say" I said back, my normally joking tone was gone instead it was replayed by a serious voice.

"I was in Diagon Alley it was confiscated by a toadlike woman from the Ministry of Magic I don't know her name but she was wearing a pink bow in her hair" Mundungs explained

I shivered hearing the apparent descriptive words he was using to describe this women, there was only one person who came to mind when he spoke, Dolores Umbridge.

"Umbridge" Ron sighed as if he had read my mind

"Dobby please get him out of the house and Mundungs if you ever betray my family again I will hunt you down and" Selina was threatening I covered her mouth, just as Dobby, Kreacher, and Mundungs disappeared, so she didn't get to finish her threat. I lowered my hand expecting her to lash out at me but all she did was sigh.

"We have to go to the ministry" she said starting to walk down the stairs.

I glanced around the group, no one seemed to know where she was going so we all followed her. She walked down the staircase and turned several times until she stopped at what looked like a cupboard. With one swift movement she pulled it open.

My eyes widened as I saw what looked to be a potions cupboard, each row contained several tiny glass bottles of liquid. She rummaged through it, the faint sound of glass hitting against each other sounded through the house.

"What are you looking for?" Vess asked, her voice sounded slightly concerned.

"I'm looking for..........." she said pausing until lifting up a large bottle of slimy green liquid "this".

I knew from the appearance what it was exactly.

"Polyjuice potion" Hermione said reaching out for the glass, Selina let her take it and started talking again.

"It is,was" she corrected herself before continuing " Mad-Eye Moody's stock of Polyjuice Potion, he gave it to dad ages ago I only just remembered we had it here, I figure we can't just turn up at the Ministry we have to try and impersonate someone" she finished, taking a breath.

She was right of course, Voldemort had already infiltrated the Ministry and posters of all one of us were spread across the muggle city and the wizarding world.

The plan was simple enough, we would disguise ourselves as Ministry members to get the locket back, we had spent several days finalising the smallest details in preparation for this day, although now standing on the footpath waiting for our "victims" I was starting to feel nervous. Selina and I were supposed to be the distraction as Hermione and Vesper came up behind them and used the The Sleeping Charm which would placed them all t into a magically induced slumber that would eventually wear off, so we had to move quickly.

"We look ridiculous, they will figure us out" I said looking at Selina, she was wearing a long blonde wig which replaced her usual black hair and was hiding her body behind a large child stroller. I on the other hand was also wearing a blonde wig although I also had glasses and a fake moustache on, it was Hermiones idea not ours.

We had already been waiting on the side of the road more at least half an hour and I was wondering if we had miscalculated their lunch break.

"Quick here they come" Selina said ignoring my previous comment, her eyes were fixated on five people moving towards us. Harry was Going to disguised as Runcorn, Hermione as Mafalda Hopkirk, Vess as Ludovic Bagman, Ron as Reginald Cattermole, Selina as Amelia Bones, and myself as Minister Rufus Scrimgeour. We had carefully picked each of these people as a way to get full coverage throughout the ministry. Although Vess didn't take the whole idea too fondly, somehow or another Harry convinced her otherwise.

I was surprised at first to see all five of them walking together, but then the planned lunch break would explain that. Selina waited until they got fairly close to us before she started the distraction. She hadn't told me what she was planning on doing, so as she slapped my face I whipped around to face her.

"I SHOULD OF NEVER MARRIED YOU, YOU DONT CARE ABOUT THIS FAMILY OR OUR CHILD" she started yelling, I caught onto the plan fairly quickly so decided to retaliate towards her.

"ME, I THINK YOU MEAN YOURSELF" I yelled back, I had to bite my tongue trying to to laugh and break character.

I watched at Selina responded before pushing the stroller in front of the worried five Ministry members. She managed to turn the stroller to block their path.

"Oh I am so sorry you had to witness that, his just never been the same after the wedding" She said a calming tone to her voice

"Sorry to hear that but we really must get going" Runcorn said starting to make his way around the stroller.

"I'm afraid you won't be going" Vess said coming up behind the stunned crowed

"Sorry" Hermione said before casting the spell.

"Well Freddie you are a good actor at that" Lina said pulling off the blonde wig

"You didn't have to slap me that hard" I said jokingly as I rubbed my cheek

"You deserved it, for leaving our family and everything" Selina joked back, going off the storyline we had created previously

"Will you two concentrate we have a task to do, and I don't know how long they will be asleep for" Vess said shutting down any response I could manage to say.

Ron and Harry came out as well and started pulling the now sleeping people off the sidewalk and into a alleyway. Just as we planned we used the potion to transform into each person and changed into the clothes they were already wearing to create a believable story.

We all followed each other into the ministry, but as soon as we got inside we split off walking our seperate ways.
