I was positioned in front of the large mirror, Ginny had hung up, solely for getting ready for the yule ball. She must really like Neville. I brushed the comb through my, slightly tangled hair and called Hermione over.

She had discovered an insta-dye charm, after I had requested it. My mother's roots were finally starting to settle into my blonde hair and some of my hair had turned a light brown, other parts were a very dark brown.

Hermione had, had to reassure me that it was completely normal for a girl's hair to turn a different shade as they grew. Phew.

She performed the charm on my hair and it appeared blonde again, I smiled at her and she beamed back. Her hair was done beautifully and Ginny had aced her makeup.

" I never got to ask who you were going with 'mione. " I said to her, underneath the light foundation she had applied, I could see a small blush tainting her cheeks. Ginny made some joking sounds of excitement and I patted the seat next to mine.

" Okay.. so we've been trying to keep it on the down low, but since were going to the yule ball everyone will know anyways.. " She begun on one of her, motivational rant's, although it was odd she was comforting herself. These were usually done to Ron or Harry.

" Hermione, please go on! " Ginny ushered, Hermione nodded and folded her hands in her lap, a smile spreading across her face.

" Viktor. " She told us, I raised my eyebrow's, so did Ginny, I had never heard of a Viktor at Hogwarts?

" Krum.. " She finished, with a shy bow of her head. Ginny and I squealed, jumping up and down. One of our best friend's had gotten a date with a world renowned quidditch player? She made a notion of her hand's to get us to sit down.

I begun on my hair again, still quite shaky. I was so excited for Hermione! After a short moment, I saw a thinking face pass over her expression.

" I never got to ask who you were both taking? " She asked, I finished the bun on the lower back of my head, by connecting the braid to it. I raised my eyebrow's for approval, they both gave encouraging thumbs up.

" Neville. " Ginny said, with a small shrug. Hermione's grin extended, elbowing Ginny gently she let out a small laugh.

" You guy's look perfect for each-other, actually. " She said, Ginny's face went bright red and she looked down at her dress. Hermione went to look at her own dress, only to realise she hadn't gotten changed, she rushed out, sending me an apologetic smile.

I finished smearing some dark red lipstick on my lip's, walking to the corner of the room to get changed myself.

My mother had originally sent a sleek green dress, I informed her, I'd rather sport my own house's colours and she had immediately sent another one, in a maroon colour.

It had a large skirt and was quite low cut, with large sleeves. I quickly shoved on a pair of white gloves, to match the white glitter that adorned the gown. I had went out and purchased a pair of doc-martin's, pairing those with some lacy socks.

Hermione walked out, just as I had finished. We stared at each-other, in awe.

" You look great! " We both said in synchronisation, Ginny looked at the both of us then laughed, she stood up and just as we were exiting, I slipped in some gold hoops for earrings. We hurried down to where it was being held and waited outside for our date's.

" I never got to inquire, who you were going with. " Hermione reminded me, I nodded, opening my mouth to respond as a familiar face walked over. Ron looked.. delightful. Hermione stifled a laugh.

" That's a look, Ron. " Ginny said, he shot her a glare and Harry joined Ron. He was wearing dress robe's and his regular round glasses. He offered me a small smile and I offered one back.

" Love the dress, Vess. " Harry said, I did a small curtsey and he let out a loud laugh, I laughed as well.

" This is all grand and all, but Vess you still need to tell- " Hermione started, but a loud reminder sounded, reminding us that all people playing in the triwizard tournament had there dance's now.

Hermione was whisked away as Viktor came by, she glared at me for not telling her. I shrugged.

Harry, bowed his head down and offered me his hand. I took it and he lead me inside, I heard Ron complaining behind us.

We entered the large ring, that already had, Cho and Cedric and Hermione and Viktor. We took position near them.

I took a deep breath, looking at Harry, I had never minded attention or public speaking, it was dancing, I despised. Even with the lesson's.

" I can't dance. " I said to Harry, I wanted him to know before the chatter died down. He looked at me, a comical look on his eyes, mixed with a slight panicked expression.

" Neither. " He told me, and like that the music begun and we had started moving. I placed my hand on Harry's shoulder, he followed what we had been taught. We began awkwardly moving around the space, tripping over almost everything.

We began laughing at each other, which earned us a glare from the professors.

Hermione raised her eyebrow's at me and Harry, I winked at her jokingly and she smiled.

After that, everything sped by in a blur. It was true when people said, things we wish would last us for, forever usually last minutes. I noticed at one stage Selina began dancing with Ron and as the night died down and Harry thanked me for everything and I thanked him back, we departed ways.

I walked over to Selina, in one swift motion. Time had finally slowed down.

I confronted her, expecting her to admit to something, god anything. She didn't and I turned around, pulling my gloves up and leaving in a hurry.

" I'm sorry. " Were the only two word's I heard leave Selina's mouth, but it was enough to get me to pause. She never apologised.

She began on a large rant about how sorry she was, I was listening solely to my own heartbeat for the most of it. She apologised?

" I'm sorry, so sorry. " She said that word again, twice. I spun around, tears welling in my eye's immediately as I looked at her expression. I searched those eye's for a short moment and I remembered, my childhood best friend, the person I told everything, the person who would stand up for me and the only person to ever fight off my brother for me.

I smiled shortly, as memories flooded my head. I tossed the bads one to the side, letting the happiness I had felt before consume me.

" I forgive you. " I muttered, I ran forward and wrapped my arms around her tightly. I was done with pretending, I didn't still care.
