Chapter 67 - Fred Weasley

I couldn't help but smile as I watched Mcgonagall beam as she spoke with Selina, she seemed to contain the look of a mother, I knew Selina never had a mother to call her own and she had told me how she viewed Mcgonagall as a motherly figure it painted the beautiful picture of everything surrounding the values of Hope, as Mcgonagall beamed as Selina was too her daughter.

The delightful occurrence was disturbed completed as the sound of footsteps came echoing throughout the halls of Hogwarts, the voice of Voldemort still ran through my head and I couldn't help but shiver thinking of the words he had just spoken.

Harry was the first to take charge he stood at the front of the crowed, everyone listening to his ever word hoping that just maybe he would give us the encouragement we all needed. He did just that, saying words we all wanted to hear and assigning roles to everyone.

I walked over to Lina and held her hand, the rest of the group gathered around us too, Ron and Hermione were tasked with going to the chamber of secrets while Vesper and Harry were to look for Helena Ravenclaw in order to retrieve Ravenclaw Diadem, one of the final horcurxes we needed, and finally Lina and I were tasked with helping make the school safe, preparing for the enviable battle. Silently we all reached for each other's hands, as if we were to aparate.

"See you all soon, please all of you be safe" Hermione said, her voice was shaking and she showed just how nervous we were all feeling.

"Promise you'll make it out safe" Vesper said, he voice longing for us to comply.

"I promise"

"Bloody hell I promise"

"Promise"

"For you Vess, I promise"

"I promise"

We all concluded, our voices were barely heard throughout the sound of chaos surrounding the hall. We all let go of each other and separated in the moment.

With Lina, we walked side by side following my own mother and Mcgonagall until we had reached the front of the school. I turned around facing Hogwarts, my home away from home. It didn't look nearly as pleasing as it once stood, the archways were broken and run down while the windows were smashed letting the cold breeze air throughout the school.

I watched as Mcgonagall raised her arms her wand outstretched, in a booming voice she made direct eye contact with the school and yelled

"Piertotum Locomotor"

An  incantation of a charm used to bring life to those artefacts that had, previously, been inanimate and unmoving. In this case the concrete statues that once stood surrounding the school came to life, one by one then bend down kneeling down on one leg in a battling defensive.

"I've always wanted to use that spell" Mcgonagall said a smile spread across her face, I couldn't help but smile just as everyone else was doing.

I couldn't help but shiver as I turned, the darkened shadows of death eaters, were coming directly towards us their wicked smiles haunting me as I glanced fore each of them. Possibly the scariest one of them all, Voldemort leading the pack of hungry for blood Death eaters, the had come to kill and we all knew it.

"Everyone get inside, Fred do not leave Selinas side, please be careful I love you both" My mother said pushing us each lightly on the back to get us to move. We followed her directions exactly, we walked quite quickly through the corridors.

I could hear the screams coming from the walk ways, more and more footsteps came closer as I turned, I ducked a spell coming straight towards the both of us. I pulled out my wand.

"expelliarmus" I said disarming the unknown death eater, he reached down for his wand, just as another flash of slight came hurdling towards him. I saw Remus and tonks smile at us, looking with looks of pure sadness.

"GO" Tonks yelled

It was only that one simple word that put everything into perspective and motion as we were suddenly running. The halls had filled with death eaters and body's of lifeless students, I didn't know where exactly we were going anywhere where we would be safe, but no where was safe.

We eventually found ourselves standing outside the room of requirement, I watched as Selina silently puffed regaining some of her breath, all of this running was pointing a strain onto her and the baby.

"Are you ok?" I asked looking at her stone cold, terrified expression, her wand pointing directly behind me.

"stupefy" She yelled, I immediately spun around and was met with the eyes of a viscous killer, Augustus Rookwood.

The spell was no use, he easy deflected it as stood looking at us a sickly smile coming onto play on his lips. He parted his mouth as if to speak, his teeth reminded me of sharks pointed and made for killing.

"Well... well....well what do we have hear?' He asked he inched closer to us until we were backed up against the cold stone wall, no escaping.

I pointed my wand at him about to say a spell when he disarmed me, my wand falling to the ground, it fell which such force that it split into two, the sound echoing through the halls.

"Goodbye Wealsey" He said I stood in front of Selina with a defensive stance, he pointed his wand directly at me then changed his mind, he pointed it at the roof and mumbled a spell. The roof immediately collapsed with a crashing sound. I was flung away from Selina as the explosion hit.

I screamed reaching out for the immense pain that was coursing through my entire body, my mind was screaming tell me to just left go and face what was left for me, I could only think of one thing. Selina.

In the distance only several feet away from me she lay, I crawled to her, leaving a trail of blood as I went. The smile that was once plastered onto her face was wiped clean leaving the sobbing look. Her eyes were filled with tears as she clutched her stomach, it was bleeding at a rapid rate.

"Freddie" She murmured her voice so hardly audible that I knew we didn't have long left.

"I'm here, please, please stay with me you promised, we'll make it through this, we have to we have" I was spiralling out of control my words all forming into one as I breathed, gasping for more air. My chest was tight and the pain was growing with every breath I took.

"Freddie, listen to me" Selina hushed before taking in a breath trying to finish her broken speech "I love you, I've always loved you, I will always you, now and forever" Her voice shook and was so quiet I barely understood any words.

"Please, I love you, please stay with me" I said sobbing.

I felt her reach up and touch my cheek,

"I love" She never got to finish her sentence, her cold lifeless hands gripped my face as I sobbed staring at what had become reality.

The pain all became too much, mentally and physically I was exhausted until I couldn't take it anymore, I took in a deep breath, the last breath I would ever take.

"I love you too" I whispered closing my eyes awaiting darkness.

We had died, a family.
