How It Started

Chapter 31 - Fred Wealsey

I think everyone was shaken up about what we had just whiteness, I was sure they were after Harry or at least trying to scare him but I would never admit that outloud, he already felt bad enough. Our house itself could be repaired and replaced, it was the belongings inside that were the issue, the amount of memories spent and collected were gone in a matter of minutes.

I suspected and had heard Dad talking with mum about asking Bill and Fluer if they could stay at shell cottage while the house was repairing, George and I would be able to find accommodation ourselves so I had made sure to inform dad not to worry about us, this seemed to give him at least a little ease.

The images of the vivid fire seemed to keep appearing in my mind and I couldn't shake them, I was more than grateful when Vesper came knocking on the door asking if Fred and I were willing to keep the game of truth or dare going. I was happy enough to do so, that would at least keep my mind from wondering and I would be able to focus on something.

It was quite late by the time we had already arrived at the Inn, so on our way to Vesper and Selinas room we had to make sure to not create too much noise. That was however unsuccessful as Neville tripped over and landed on his face with a loud, thump. I had helped him up, which he said thank you for too many times to count. Luckily we were already near the bedroom door so we could duck inside before anyone came out, looking for what the noise was.

George, Neville and I were the last three to arrive and everyone had already made a small circle around the ceramic mugs collected. I figured they were for the potion, Veritaserum. I still wasn't too sure how Vesper came into the possession of such a powerful truth serum but never the less it provided for an interesting game.

Just as though the game had never stopped, Lina continued with asking someone around the circle.
"Truth" Ginny said, pouring herself a small amount of Veritaserum. Selina thought for a brief moment until she responded with
"Have you ever cheated on Neville?"

I glanced at Neville as his shifted his shirt slightly, he looked like he was nervous. Ginny took a sip of the potion and waited a short while for it to set in. We all remained quiet as we watched her think about this question for a while.
"Well no, not entirely" She said outloud

That wasn't a full answer and I didn't understand what she meant by that comment. I glanced at Neville and he seemed to know what she was about to say.
"We were on a break for everyone's information" Neville said before Ginny could speak. I had started to notice that Neville had gained a lot more confidence over the past few years, which was good for him I guess.

That was news to me, no one had told me that they had broken up and it appeared, based off of the facial expressions from the group it was news to everyone else as well.
"Please elaborate?" Vesper said trying to start a conversation

"Well as neville said we broke up and were on a break and well I went to the leaky cauldron with dean and we kissed it was whatever, Hermione saw us I expected you already knew" Ginny said turning her gaze to Ron and Harry, both of which shook their heads.

"Anyway truth or dare Potter" Ginny said quite quickly obviously trying to avoid anymore questions, although I could tell by the room everyone had a lot of questions to ask.

"Um I guess I'll pick dare" Harry cautiously said, I was surprised by the sudden shift in attitude he was displaying

"I dare you spend the rest of the game in only your underwear" Ginny replied after a short period of time spent actually thinking of a dare.

I had to admit it wasn't the worst dare I had ever heard, I figured the game would at least get somewhat more interesting, than just a load of truths, although one truth was interesting. I glanced up and locked eyes with Lina, she smiled.

"Do I have to?" Harry asked flushing a light colour of red

"It's the rules of the game" Vesper said sarcastically, I figured she was trying to make Harry annoyed and it was working.

Harry sighed before leaving the room, as soon as he left the group fell into a fit of laughter. Harry returned in just his underwear like Ginny had dared him to.

"Can we turn the heater up?" He asked which caused the group to laugh once more, Lina got up and walked towards the fireplace located on the back wall of the room.
"Incendio" she whispered just loud enough for the group to hear before the fire started cracking. Within seconds the room was a lot warmer which seemed to comfort Harry for the most part.

"Um George truth or dare?" He asked, I already knew what George would respond with after all he was predictable

"Dare please Harry" he smirked

"I dare you to not pull a prank on me for the rest of the Christmas break I'm sick of them" Harry laughed

To be fair that was a smart dare to ask of George, although that wouldn't stop me from playing a few tricks. In fact I was sure the store was getting in a new supply of hair colour soon, maybe that would come in handy.

"Fine, fine, alright a dares a dare" George said

"Thank you very much" Harry said in response overly pleased with himself, he had forgotten that George and I come in twos, so he virtually didn't stop any pranks from occurring to him.

George turned to me before asking

"Alright Freddie which do you pick truth or dare?"

I picked up the potion and poured myself a glass

"Truth, cheers" I said pretending to clink his glass before taking a sip
