The boy's Gryffindor common room was illuminated, but not with light, with talking. It seems many of the fourth year's were just as stressed as myself. Were the girl's feeling the same? perhaps they were.
" Neville. " Ron's commanding voice brought me back to reality, I nodded. He thought over something in his head for a short moment.
" Would you consider not going with my little sister? " He asked me, I went to respond with yes but remembered the countless time's Harry and Vess had told me, not to let other's walk over me.
I turned away, sifting through my sock's.
" Could've brought that up a bit sooner Ron. So, no. " I answered, I turned around and saw Ron's baffled expression. My eye's shifted over to Harry who was cheering me on silently, I smiled, looking back to Ron, I shrugged.
He smiled, patting my shoulder, harsher than necessary.
" Good on you Longbottom. " He said to me, although I could still see a slight touch of anger written in his eye's. He turned away, walking over to his wardrobe, he pulled out his dress robe's and I could see him visibly cringe.
I turned back to my pile of sock's, carefully selecting a pair and putting them on. I then slipped on my shoe's that the man I bought them from said was good for dancing. I hoped they would work well, although I had spent many night's practicing the dance, hopefully that'll work as well.
I tied the strikingly white tie that my nan had sent, I wrapped it loosely around my neck. I then walked over to the mirror, sleeking my hair back, with a heavy blob of gel and a comb. I shook my head in dismay, then deciding to give myself a fringe-like hair-style.
" Striking. " Seamus said, I laughed, combing it once more before setting the brush down and going over to my bed to sit down and wait for the other's.
" I'm going with Lavender Brown. " Seamus announced, eyebrow's raised. Harry made a mocking noise as he collapsed onto Ron, pretending to be dazzled. I chuckled but Seamus looked slightly annoyed.
" Right - Oh and who are you taking again? Thin air? " Seamus shot back, Harry stood up again and shrugged, a small smirk on his face. Ron shoved him off but still had an amused expression.
" And I don't suppose you'd be taking anyone with those dress robes. " Dean said to Ron, Ron shot him a glare, crossing his arm's like a toddler. Dean nodded, confirming his point as he went back to reading on his bed.
I assumed he hadn't asked anyone and wasn't going.
" I may be taking thin air. " Harry said, redirecting the conversation back to the previous banter.
" But at least I'm not taking Lavender Brown. " He finished, with a sly grin. Ron nodded staring at Harry.
" Amen. " He said, with the same sly grin. Seamus practically had steam running out of his ear's as he sat down, we all heard the bed loudly groan as he practically threw himself down. I couldn't help but burst out into laughter.
" At least, I am not taking a third year. " Seamus said to me, I raised my hand's in mock defence. Why had the conversation shifted over to me?
" That third year is my Sister Seamus, tread lightly with your next word's. " Ron warned, Seamus shrugged as we all continued getting ready. As we all were finally ready, we departed to our different place's we were meeting our date's.
Ginny and I had agreed to meet outside the hall, I ran out the front to see her standing alongside Vess and Mione.
They all looked incredibly pretty.
I took her hand and she looked at me slightly shocked, before smiling as we walked inside. It was the champion's dance first and I couldn't help but let out a low chuckle as Vess and Harry danced.
They were not very.. talented. But they appeared to be having fun, so that was the main thing.
When the song concluded, Ginny and I ran onto the floor immediately and began dancing. My practicing had obviously paid and Ginny just seemed talented at Dancing.
We talked a lot about school and what we wished to do when we graduated and then we just discussed the future and all good thing's like that.
She was a very interesting person, I got side-tracked at one stage as Ron and Selina began dancing. He looked slightly terrified and slightly confused.
The song's came to an end all too song and I didn't want to stop spending time with Ginny, she seemed to feel the same way as her expression fell the second the song's stopped as well. She quickly began smiling again and grabbed my hand, she began running as I trailed shortly behind her.
We abruptly came to a stop and as I regathered my bearings, I noticed that we were in one of the many court yard's surrounding and inside Hogwart's. She smiled at me, before flicking her wand out and casting a charm.
All of a sudden music began playing and she put her hand's on my shoulders again, I copied her, except putting one of my hand's on her waist. We began dancing again and I couldn't help but grin at this idea.
We continued dancing for what appeared to be 2 hours and then slowly the song charm she had produced, flittered before dying. She frowned again but smiled up at me.
" Thanks Neville. " She said to me, I nodded, rubbing the back of my head awkwardly.
" Any time. " I answered, she walked off down one of the corridors but shortly turned back around, she ran towards me and as she reached in front of me, she got up on her toe's. She kissed my cheek quickly before ducking off down the corridor again, laughing.
