In the four years, I had spent at Hogwarts. I had made some excellent friends, many and most from the Gryffindor house. My brother and I had put aside our many differences and become a little bit closer, however not enough to call it a proper sibling-like bond.
We were almost like the two friend's who know each-other, but if you put them together in the same room alone, it would be filled with awkward silence.
The only bad thing about this small unrecognisable friendship we had created was we couldn't talk with each other much anyways, our two group's had formed a hateable tension. We almost always received snide comments from them, or glares.
As we entered the library, my point was proven as Silena shot a glare right at Ron. He turned bright red and stared at the ground as we walked inside, I shot her a glare in respond.
" Surprised she is not adopted. " I mumbled to Ron, trying to improve his mood. He smiled slightly, but I could still tell he was a little embarrassed.
We had met Sirius Black, in the previous year and found out he was Harry's god-father. He was nothing like his daughter as he was quite the kind sort, although he did seem a little mental, but being locked up in Azkaban couldn't of done him much good, especially for a crime he did not commit.
We sat down on a round table in the library, our group still remained the same. Myself, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Neville. We were here attempting to work out what to do for Harry's next task, he had received a golden egg during the first one.
However, everyone in our group had failed to work out what to do with it. Harry set it down on the table and as usual we all sat and stared at it, trying to work out something more. We had opened it in the library once, forgetting the ear-piercing scream it always let out.
We nearly had 50 points taken off for disruption.
We sat there for an additional five minutes, having found nothing new, as per usual.
" How many times are we going to have to sit here, until we get the hint we're not finding anything new. " Ron said, a little louder than necessary.
" Ron this is important for Harr- " Hermione begun, with an annoyed expression written on her face.
" No, I have to agree Hermione. It's getting tedious. " Harry sighed, slumping against his chair, he looked very tired.
" Okay. " was all she said in response, folding her hand's in her lap.
I didn't like the uncomfortable silence that followed, I folded my robes sleeves up slightly, being careful not to fold it past my elbow.
I opened my mouth, to destroy the silence but Ron beat me to it. He turned to Hermione, a smile on his lip's.
" Hermione, I'm assuming you haven't gotten a date to the ball yet. It might be a little sad, if you go by yourself. So I'll go with you. " He said, Harry and I exchanged looks of second hand embarrassment.
We both shared joking smiles, before looking at Hermione's enraged expression. I swear I heard Neville back up into his chair even further.
" Ronald. " She said, her voice raising a little higher as well.
" This will surprise you, immensely. I am already going to the yule ball with a date. " She began, whisper-yelling at Ron, Neville, Harry and I pushed our chair's together to give them a little.. privacy.
" You got a date Neville? " Harry asked as a joke, poor Neville. He smiled, straightening up in his chair.
" Yes I do. " He said, Harry's eyes widened and I felt awful but mine did too.
" Who's the lucky lady Nev? " I asked, he looked over at Ron and Hermione. For a short moment, I believed maybe he was going with Hermione.
" Ginny. " He answered. Ron's sister.. I began laughing, and then stopped immediately, apologising to Neville.
" Ron will be outraged. " I said, Neville nodded, looking at the ground, sheepishly. I elbowed him and he looked back up.
" Go you though. " I said, he smiled at me and Harry cleared his throat, reminding us of his presence. I nodded, endearing he go on further.
" What about you Vess, have you got a date? " He asked me, I considered this question for a moment and then shook my head. I hadn't really been thinking about that at the moment, I shuffled my robe back over my hand.
" Want to go with me? " Harry asked, I looked away from Neville and looked directly at him.
" As friends, obviously. " He added quickly, Neville looked like he was keeping down a laugh at this comment.
" Of course. " I answered, perfect, I was going to ask him anyways.
Neville let out a loud cheer and everyone in the library eyed us, including the Slytherin table. Ron walked over to our side of the table, Hermione was no longer with him.
" I got a loud telling off and then she stormed off.. And I thought Vess was the mother of the group. " He said, shoulders hunched over. He looked over to Harry and Neville.
" Look's like we will have to find Yule Ball dates, guys. " He told them, his shoulders still very much folded over. Harry let out a small laugh.
" Sorry, I've already got one. " He told Ron, Ron rolled his eyes, now looking at Neville.
" I have one too. " Neville answered, rather proudly.
" Who in the hell? " He asked, Neville seemed to crawl further back into his chair. I answered for him.
" Your sister. " Ron's eyes widened and stared at Neville, he opened his mouth as his eyebrows furrowed, as if he was about to give a big brother speech but then stopped in his tracks, turning to face Harry.
" Who are you taking? " He asked, turning to face Harry. Harry pointed over to where I was sitting and Ron's eyes practically popped out.
" As friends, obviously. " I told him, mimicking Harry's voice from before. Harry and Neville began laughing but Ron appeared to be frozen on the spot. He looked around the library as if searching for help.
" Who in the bloody hell am I supposed to go with? " He asked, snapping out of his weird state.
" Fleur? " I asked, he looked at me with raised eyebrows then nodded running out of the library.
We all descended into fits of laughter, once again.
