Chapter 47 -Fred Weasley

It didn't surprise me when Vesper had pulled out the potion bottle, although we had just been through a nightmare of a lot, and it seemed like we were safe, for now at least, playing the game gave some comfort. The game would give stress off the rest of us.

Harry had explained that tomorrow we would start our "quest", as he called it, to find the horcruxes. It was going to be dangerous and something I didn't quite know what would entail, so for tonight it was nice to just relax.

We had made sure the entire house was safe, which it proved to be. Selina had created traps so if someone did turn up here we would know, and adapt, I hoped that wouldn't happen though.

I figured it was my turn to ask, I glanced around the small circle we had made before looking at Harry, Harry smiled weakly as I asked,

"Truth or double truth"

"I'll just do truth thanks" Harry said while taking a small shot of the potion and placing it into his mug, he gulped the potion down in one sip, I thought about it for a while before I finally thought of a truth...

"When was the last time you lied?" I said

Harry looked me directly in the eye, pondering over this question

"Uhhh I guess when I said everything was fine, I'm freaking out and I'm scared about everything happening all at once" Harry said sighing

It wasn't a good truth, more so mild and Harry's answer didn't really inform us anything we didn't already know, I mean we were all scared and it was comforting to know that even Harry was suffering a little.

"Vess truth or double truth?" Harry asked

"Double" Vess said almost immediately, her answer was sharp and I wondered whether or not she was annoyed at something. Harry glanced at Hermione notifying her that she too would be answering the question.

"Have you ever hooked up with anyone else from Hogwarts?" Harry asked although he never made eye contact with either of them

Both Hermione and Vess filled their mugs before each taking their time to take a sip, Vess was the first to take a sip followed by Hermione.

"No" Vess answered immediately, once again her answer was sharp and it seemed like something was going on with her. She better figure it out before we were required to spent the next who knows how long all together in a tent hunting for horcruxes.

I wasn't surprised by her answer, I was fairly sure Harry was her first and only boyfriend and up until today I thought they were the most compatible out of everyone, they seemed just like the perfect paring, so I didn't understand what was happening.

Hermiones face went red and she was looking directly at the ground, she was fiddling with a loose strand of carpet. She shook her head.

"You've got to answer verbally" Ron said looking annoyed, was everyone annoyed today?

"Yes, with Cormac" Hermione said still looking at the floor.

My jaw practically fell open as a silence was casted over the group, i doubt anyone would have predicted that outcome, I was shocked and it appeared the entire group was too.

"Ew cormac really?" Vess said breaking the silence, I thought hermione would get offended but instead burst into laughter, the group laughed with her. I didn't know if we were laughing because it was really funny or we all just felt awkward, for me it was mostly the second one.

"Anyway truth or double truth Selina" Vess said, I glanced at Selina who started filling her mug. She was the only person who hadn't spoken all game so it was about time she got a truth from someone.

"Um truth please" she responded a little too nicely

"Let's see, is it true, the rumour I mean you know the one about you and Draco hooking up?" Vess asked.

I had to be honest I was nervous for her response, I had also heard the rumours but I was too scared to ever ask her about it, I think mostly afraid if she responded with yes. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat on the floor.

Selina took a sip before laughing, I didn't really know why she was laughing

"No of course not, it was all Theo's doing I was annoyed at him for some reason I can't even now and he started spreading that, by the time I found out it was too late and no one believe me when I said no" she said, I sighed very much realised by her answer.

"Vess, have you seen him?" She asked her volume changed it was now slightly more quiet

"Who?" Vess asked back, to be fair I had no idea who she was talking about

"Theo, Theodore Nott, Draco told me they sometimes have meetings at the manor, have you seen him is he okay?" She asked, her voice was slightly breaking as she tried to keep her volume steady.

I knew it was hard on her when her best friend, Theodore left to become a death eater I hadn't even thought about how seeing the death eaters in the last couple of days were adding a toll on her.

"I - I - I don't know, I haven't seen him sorry Lina" Vesper said back stuttering slightly, it wasn't a truth so she didn't take any potion although something about her answer seemed off to be, like she was hiding something.

Linas face fell, her smile gone off her face, I reached for her hand and placed it in mine, she tried to plaster on a smile as she responded.

"Oh that's okay, I just figured even so Freddie truth or double truth" She said, she seemed happier to have the attention draw off her as everyone glanced at me obviously waiting what I would say. I thought about it for a little while until I had made my decision. I poured myself a glass taking small sips, I still don't like the taste.

"Just truth thanks" I said in return.
