Death, revival and new troubles

Ayame's pov

"I'm sorry Kazuo..." I muttered.

I walked through nothing, until I saw a campfire with a woman sitting near the fire. She had black, long hair. "I didn't expect you and Kakashi to follow me this soon..." she muttered.

She turned around to look at me. Onyx eyes were looking at me. "You truly have grown a lot, didn't you?"

"Mom..." I muttered.

"Come here." she said. I walked towards her. She stood up and hugged me. "I'm proud of you, never forget that."

"But... I couldn't even save everyone I cared about..." I replied with tears in my eyes. "I couldn't even prevent my friend from falling into darkness."

"But you never gave up." the woman replied. "And you were able to forgive the one who killed me."

We sat there for a long time in silence. Tears were still falling from my eyes. "Mom, do you think I could've saved him if I was there?" I asked.

Mom shook her head. "We can never know that. It's always a guess what would've happened. We can never know for sure. You aren't blaming yourself, are you?"

"I'm trying not to, but I can't stop thinking about all the things I did wrong..."

"Don't. I, Hitomi Hatake-Uchiha believe that you did everything you could to protect them. You see, sometimes, it's someone's time to go, even if we don't agree with it."

"I know, but..." I muttered. "It hurts..."

"You know, the death of someone close to you, also makes you even more determined to protect those who are close to you."

Meanwhile, in the village

Third person pov

"What's that sound?" Hitoshi said. Kazuki went outside and saw something coming their way.

"Doton, Earth barrier!" Kazuki exclaimed. A huge wall made out of earth rose up to protect the hospital from destruction.

When the sound was gone, Kazuki undid the jutsu. The wall crumbled into pieces. They looked and saw that the village was completely destroyed. "Impossible..." Hitoshi muttered. "What could have caused so much destruction?"

Kazuki shook his head. "This... this can't be happening!" he said. "Friends dying, a destroyed village..."

"I'll look around and tell you what I saw. You're needed here, in the hospital." Hitoshi said before leaving to investigate the damage.

* * * * *

"Hitoshi-san! What did you see?!" Kazuki asked Hitoshi when he came back.

"Naruto has come back." Hitoshi said. "But he's now in the Ninetails state, fighting Pein alone. He doesn't want anyone to interfere, so stay here."

"But he's my friend! I want to help him!"

"He has defeated the last Pein." Katsuya suddenly interrupted. "He's now going to see the real Pein."

"What?! He defeated all of Pein's bodies on his own?!" Hitoshi asked.

"Five of them. Ayame had taken down one with Amaterasu, that's what Chouji told me." Kazuki replied. "So five of them, right?"

"That kid surely is something..." Hitoshi muttered. "To be able to take down five Peins at the same time."

*Timeskip*

Everyone who was killed by Pein, were being revived. Kazuki was waiting in the hospital for Ayame and Kakashi to wake up, who were surrounded by a green light.

Ayame's pov

I was surrounded by a green light. "What's happening?" I wondered.

"I'm guessing it's not your time to go yet, nor is it Kakashi's time." mom replied. "Don't come back too soon, will ya? You should become happy with Gaara."

"You know about that?"

"I've seen it all. You're really cute together." mom said. "Goodbye Ayame, don't forget I'll always be proud of you."

"Goodbye... mom..." I said before disappearing.

I opened my eyes and looked at the familiar green eyes of Kazuki. "Did I miss a lot?" I asked.

"Ayame, I was so worried about you! I thought I had lost you forever!" Kazuki exclaimed with tears in his eyes. I sat up and looked at my wound. It was gone, probably healed. "I healed it, hoping you weren't really dead..." Kazuki muttered.

"Kazuki..." I muttered. "I'm sorry for worrying you..." I looked around and saw dad sitting up and looking at me. He stood up, walked towards me and gave me a hug. I gladly hugged him back.

"Ayame, you really got me worried." he said softly.

"You got me worried too, dad." I replied. "I really thought you were dead."

We were trying to rebuild the village again. I had heard what happened from Kazuki and Hitoshi and I also was there to thank Naruto.

I was going to collect wood with Kazuki, when I suddenly heard something behind us. I saw Kiba, riding on Akamaru. "There's a new Hokage." he said.

"Why? Did something happen to Tsunade-sama?" I asked him. Kiba nodded.

"So, who is the new Hokage?" Kazuki asked.

"A guy named Danzou, I heard." Kiba replied. I smashed a tree and I was shaking from anger. Kazuki and Kiba looked at me, confused. "What's wrong? Do you know him?" Kiba asked.

"Oh, I've heard about him." I said. "That egocentric, selfish sadistic asshole... All he wants is power and control and now he has become Hokage. What the fuck were they thinking when they choose him to become Hokage?!"

Suddenly, I smelled someone familiar behind me. I pulled out my twin blades and stopped his attack. "Why are you trying to kill me?!" I asked him with my Sharingan activated.

The man wore a mask and was obviously an ANBU member. "It was an order. You're concidered a rogue ninja by Danzou-sama."

"What the fuck! That bastard! I'm in the village, so I'm obviously not a rogue ninja!" I replied angrily. I kicked the man unconcious and turned around. "Great, just great! Like I didn't have enough problems already!"

"What are you going to do now?" Kazuki asked.

"Use it as an excuse to visit Suna." I said. "If I'm apparently not wanted in the village, then I'll just go visit Gaara, Temari and Kankuro. At least I should be welcome in Suna."

"Then you should warn your father first, shouldn't you?" Kazuki asked.

I nodded. "Let's go then, I don't want to be followed on my way there."
