Flashback

"Mom, I'm going to become a great shinobi, just like you and dad!" the four year old Ayame told her mother.

Hitomi chuckled. "I'm afraid you're a bit too young. You'll get stronger when you're older." she said.

"But dad became genin at--"

"You want to become just like him? Isn't having the same hair colour as him enough for you?" Hitomi interrupted her daughter.

"What are you talking about?! It's not that!"

"Really? Why do you want to become a ninja? Is it because people are expecting it from you?"

"Huh? I never really thought about that..."

"Don't worry. You'll find your ninja way by experience and your comrades. Comrades can be a great source of inspiration, ya know?"

Ayame nodded, not truly understanding what her mother just told her.

Flashback end

'I can't die just yet...' Ayame thought. 'I need to protect the ones I care about...'

"You better not die! How many near death situations must you get before learning from it?" Hiroshi told Ayame.

"I haven't had that many and the situation was different everytime!" Ayame shot back.

"If you say so..." Hiroshi muttered. "Take my chakra when you need it."

Her mother's blade was gettin closer to her neck, but Ayame was still able to block it. "I'll protect my comrades, no matter what happens!" Ayame said while focussing her chakra in her own blade and using the strenght she had left to push her mother's blade away. Hitomi's blade had left behind a small scratch on Ayame's neck, but it wasn't that serious. "That's my ninja way!"

Hitomi smiled. "You truly have grown up, I'm proud of you, Ayame." she said while she was already disappearing.

"What's going on?" Ayame asked.

Hitomi shook her head. "I don't know, darling." she said. "Thanks for telling me your ninja way."

"Hitomi..." Kakashi muttered.

"Goodbye, Kakashi-kun." Hitomi said before she was completely gone.

With Kabuto

Kabuto was really angry for losing another pawn in his game. "Kabuto. Did you try to get my experiments killed?" Hikaru asked.

"No." Kabuto replied. "But I'm afraid I'll nerd to turn Kazuo in an emotionless killing machine. I'm worried the same thing will happen to him.

With Ayame

Kazuo's eyes widened in surprise. "Kazuki, please stop me..." he muttered before his emotions and memories were taken away. His eyes turned white and he started attacking Kazuki, aiming to kill him. "AYAME! WHAT'S GOING ON?!" he exclaimed, expecting Ayame to know.

Ayame jumped next to him, holding a hand in front of her right eye. "I can't see it, my vision in my left eye is really blurry."

Kazuo almost stabbed Kazuki, but Kyioe jumped in front of him and was stabbed instead. "KYIOE-CHAN!" Kazuki cried, tears streaming down his face. In the meanwhile, Kazuo was sealed.

"Kazuki-kun, you were the one I cared most about, I couldn't let you be killed by your own brother." she muttered, coughing up blood. "Please stay alive, will ya?"

Tears streamed down Kazuki's cheek. "Kazuki, is Kyioe dying?" Ayame asked. "Her chakra keeps getting weaker."

Kazuki tried to use medical ninjutsu on Kyioe, but it was no use. "Kazuki, I'll watch over you, I promise." Kyioe whispered. "This is the way I wanted to die."

Kazuki sobbed and Ayame was muttering curses under her breath. "Damnit, I vowed to protect my comrades, and yet one of them is dying in front of me! I can't stand the feeling of not being able to save them!" she said.

After a long silence and a lot of crying, Kazuki swept away his tears. "Ayame, show me your right eye." he demanded.

"You don't want to see it." Ayame replied.

"Maybe I can help." Kazuki told her.

"You don't want to see it."

"I do, Ayame, now show me!"

"I already told you, you don't want to see it!"

Suddenly, a hand grabbed Ayame's right arm and made her reveal her right eye. A cut was made by her mother, by her blade. "Ayame... this looks bad." Kazuki said. "Thanks for the help Kakashi-sensei."

Kakashi also went to take a look at Ayame's eye, not letting go of her hand. "Dad, let go of my hand." she ordered, but Kakashi shook his head. "I know you longer than today Ayame. You would hide it again without giving me a chance to see it."

"Kazuki would have told you anyway."

"Ayame, let me heal it. Your eye can still be saved." Kazuki said. "But you need to let me help you now."

Ayame nodded and opened her eye. Kakashi moved out of the way, giving Kazuki some space. He used his medical ninjutsu at Ayame's eye for a long while, until he thought the bleeding had stopped and Ayame would be able to see again. "I'm finished." he said.

Ayame opened her eyes and saw she was able to see through her right eye again. However, her vision had disorientated a little bit. "Thank you, Kazuki. What would I do without you?" Kazuki gave her a light smile. "Now, how about we find Kabuto, make him release this jutsu and kick his ass for everyone who had died by the hand of the Edo Tensei?"

"Good idea, Ayame!" Kazuki said. "We won't let their deaths be in vain!" Ayame nodded. "Shouldn't we inform Kakashi-sensei about this?" Kazuki continued.

"I already heard your plan." Kakashi cut in.

"You can't stop us. You know stubbornness is in the Uchiha-clan." Ayame said. "But don't worry, we won't do anything rash. We'll think through first."

"You better do that. If you keep getting yourself into a near death situation, you'll give me a heartache!" Hiroshi commented.

"Huh? You have a heart?" Ayame questioned.

"You know what I mean, Ayame-chan." Hiroshi stated.

"That's right Kakashi-sensei!" Kazuki blended in. "Leave Kabuto to us, while you're dealing with the rest."
