Shadows of the Past (sequel to: I'm Kakashi's Daughter?!)

After the war

*two years after the war*

Ayame's pov

Tsunade had quit as Hokage after the war, now I was the sixth Hokage. I heard a knock on the door, followed by Itachi entering. "You called for me, Hokage-sama?" he asked. He looked at me and rose an eyebrow. "You're Hokage now?"

I nodded. "Yes, I never thought anyone would use that honorific though... I still have to get used to it." I said. "Anyways, I'm sending you on a mission. I'm sure the villagers will trust you when you've accomplished it."

Itachi nodded. "What is the mission?"

"You'll be one of my escorts to the upcoming Five Kage Summit."

"Who else will you bring along?" Itachi asked.

"Kakashi tou-san. I believe that none of you would ever let me get killed." I replied. "We're family after all."

*timeskip no jutsu*

We arrived safely at the location of the Five Kage Summit. We entered the room where we were going to discuss the problem, sitting down underneath the flag that said "fire". We were the last one to arrive, everyone else was already there. I took of the Hokage hat and put in front of me, just like all the other Kage had done.

We discussed the matter of what we were going to do about the moon crumbling to pieces, possibly letting giant rocks hit the earth (I'm using the Last plot a bit ;)).

"Our number one priority is the safety of the villagers." I said. "We'll have to protect them by destroying everything that falls on the earth."

"I agree. We'll have to protect our village and the smaller villages around it." Gaara said.

"We'll decide who has to protect which villagers from the smaller villages." Onoki said.

*timeskip no jutsu*

Sitting at my desk, Sai entered the room and told me Hanabi was kidnapped. He said he chased them, but they gor away with Hanabi. "Get Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, Hinata and Neji. You'll be going with them too."

The six of them arrived at the office. "I'm assigning you to a mission to retrieve Hanabi. Shikamaru, you'll be teamleader."

I gave them the details of the mission and told them something about what we had discussed at the summit. I dismissed them and they left for their mission.

Soon after they left, three others walked in. Kazuki, Kazuo and Kyioe. "Ayame, are you sending us on a mission?" Kazuo asked.

"Get every chunin and jounin in the village and let them help bringing the villagers and genin to safety." I replied. I told them more about why we were doing this, and they nodded.

"We won't let you down, Ayame!" Kazuki said and gave me a bright smile.

"I'm counting on you." I said before dismissing them. I decided to warn Sasuke about it, so I sent him a bird with a message on it that said exactly what was discussed in the summit.

*timeskip no jutsu*

Every ninja of the Leaf was getting the villagers to safety and protecting them by destroying the pieces that fell of the moon. "Summoning jutsu." I said before biting in my thumb and putting my hand on the ground. I had summoned Hiroshi to help too.

"I see it's going well, Ayame-chan." he said. "But I also see all help is welcome."

A group of taijutsu users, including Gai and Lee, were able to break one of them, but not completely. The other half was coming my way.

Before I could destroy it, using chidori, someone showed up and destroyed it. From the technique he was using, and from what I could see of his clothing, I recognized him as Sasuke. 'Seems like he got my message after all...' I thought.

He stayed, but there weren't many things to destroy anymore.

*timeskip no jutsu*

Back at the Leaf, the team I had sent on the mission to rescue Hanabi,  had returned with her and I noticed something had changed in the relationship between Naruto and Hinata.

"That knucklehead finally realized she loved him all the time, huh?" Hiroshi joked.

"You noticed it too?" I asked him. "I thought you didn't have much knowledge on human love and I can't recall ever telling you."

"It was so obvious, even I noticed it." Hiroshi said.

"So... are you two...?" I asked Naruto, getting straight to the point. Hinata blushed heavily, while Naruto had a huge grin ob his face.

"We are indeed!" he exclaimed, knowing what I was talking about. Hinata blushed even more, but I could tell she was happy. "How are you and Gaara doing?" Naruto asked me.

"Me and Gaara?" I asked, surprised by his question.

"Yeah, ya know, your long distance relationship!" Naruto said.

"Yeah, Ayame, I want to know too." Sakura said.

"I'm curious myself too." Shikamaru said.

"Tell us." Neji said.

"Haha, they totally got you!" Hiroshi said to tease me.

"I know I know!" I told him. "But I'm not ashamed to tell them."

"You're blushing."

"What?!"

"We're fine." I said. "We don't have any problems, even though we're both busy with Kage business."

"You want more, don't you?" Sakura asked. "You want to have more than a long distance relationship, right?"

Before I could accidently embaress myself, I dismissed them. They left, but they were obviously disappointed I didn't answer.

"Well, well, someone's got it bad." I heard a voice behind me. The voice belonged to Itachi. "So you're in a relationship with the kazekage?"

I nodded. "I would have thought Naruto would have told you already." I stated. "But yes, I do have a relationship with Gaara."

Itachi gave me a glare, from which I could make out he wanted me to follow my heart and go for him. He soon left after giving me that glare, leaving me alone in the office again.

*a few years later*

Gaara had come to the Leaf with Temari and Kankuro to discuss the Chunin exams. All the time, Temari and Kankuro were trying to get Gaara to do something. I was totally clueless about what it could be.

When everything was settled, Gaara did something I wasn't expecting at all.

"Ayame Hatake, will you marry me?"

He asked it while there were quite a lot of people, his siblings and the advisors of the Leaf, one of them being my father.

I blushed, but smiled at the same time. I replied by signing Gaara to stand up again. I kissed him and whispered my answer in his ear. "Yes, I will."

Heey peoplezz!

I haven't updated in a very long time, I know, but I hope the amount of love and cheesy stuff makes up for it! (The ending was so flippin cheesy...)

Next chapters will be about what happens in the epilogue and some chapters about her life as an adult.
