8: Attitude

Chaeyeon's POV:

Sakura seemed to be lost in her thoughts the whole day, it was a surprise how soft her attitude is, I purposely called her Koibito earlier just to see her reaction. She's funny when she's panicking, the way her eyes widens when I say something a little playful to her ears was cute. She's really the cutest girl I've ever seen in my entire life. She was also the first person ever to prepare my lunch, at last, someone who knows how to cook apart from me.

Apart from her being my crush and bias in AKB48, I think she's really pretty, too bad I wasn't her first kiss, that title belonged to Matsui Jurina. The first ever woman to kiss my Sakura. I've seen footage of this lips to lips deep kiss they shared. That hurt my heart tremendously as I watched them lock lips on stage. Then like what Minmin told me Jurina and Anna may have done something, so I looked the trio up on Google last night on my phone, as I did my business in the bathroom. I found out that the articles about the trio were just fan speculations.

Jurina and Sakura for example had a wordy fight before the senbatsu elections, but was found to be a baseless rumor. Anna and Sakura likewise were baseless rumors. Minmin might be wrong after all. We were now waiting for our turn to perform, we were third to perform today. Yes, aside from repeating the choreography we have for a soon to be debuting song, we also have to draw lots to determine who goes first the day after.

I've been watching her drift off to her thoughts, I let her be for now, but when the second performer was called, I pulled Sakura out of the room as she was still zoning out. We only have three minutes to talk things out. She lets me drag her out of the room. I took her outside, at the end of the hallway. I spoke with her as soon as we reached the end of the hallway.

"I don't know what's going on with your head, but I need your focus for the next 7 minutes until we finish our performance, I need you to trust yourself and trust me in the next 6 minutes." I told her.

I cupped her face now, making her look at me.

"Trust me please." I followed up with her.

"Okay. Don't worry. I trust myself and you." She replied.

I kissed her in the forehead, her eyes closed as I leaned in. I let my kiss linger on her forehead.

"I trust you, Saku-chan. You can do this, I am here for you. Now let's go inside, smile give me your most beautiful smile, okay?" I followed up.

"Okay." She said barely inaudible.

I hugged her briefly and whispered to her.

"I am always here for you, Sakura. No matter what the results are you and I will stay friends." I followed up again.

She pulls me into a tighter embrace and held me there for a while before she pulls away and looks into my eyes and says.

"Thank you for calming me, I must've been just worried. Not myself today." She replied to me.

"I understand, I need you to debut with me, please remember that you need to debut huh? Okay?" I replied to her softly.

She only nods at me and smiled at me softly. I took her hand again and intertwined it with me as we made our way back to the room. I squeezed her hand tightly before re-entering the room and let her hand go as I entered the room first, she followed me back to our seats. There's only 1 minute left with the current's group performance. We sat back on our seats and waited for the second group to finish.

Once they were done, a round of applause followed as our group name was called. IZ*ONME, that was the name of our debuting team, as announced yesterday. We were really on our way to debuting. So, I can't loose the current line up. If I had to be like a Father or a parent to them, then I'll be. We tweaked the choreography to make it more of IZ*ONME's Choreography, like we owned this song and the choreography. We were the last team to perform, everyone was antsy to leave for the day already, so it was okay if we added a minor tweak.
