This story was about Morgan's past and it intersecting her present. There are others including another one in The Shape of Things to Come
Morgans past is referenced frequently in the books. A sort of slow burn reveal here because there are two Morgan books about her time in Houston as a detective. Lonely Dancer and The Law of Unintended Consequences.
