Jessica got bored with cuddling and waiting. She tried making moon eyes, to no effect. Finally, she said: "I'm hungry. We missed dinner."
Neither Morgan nor I said anything to that, assuming she was talking to Helen.
A few minutes passed.
"Morgan? Will you make me a sandwich?" Jessica asked, politely.
Morgan slowed to an already slow stop. "Really? You lost? The kitchen is that way." Morgan pointed.
"Aren't you done yet?" Jessica asked. "You have been doing that for a while."
"I am just getting started." Morgan went back to slow.
"Aren't you hungry?" Jessica asked.
"Yes. For THIS." Morgan complained.
"Helen? Do you know how to work the kitchen?" Jessica asked.
"We have a kitchen? No. Of course we do. That's were Nakoma and Morgan and Adrain hang out and that food comes out of."
"Adrian?" Morgan asked.
"Yes?"
"Remember where we are. Just getting started. I have to go feed the children."
"I'll help. Go faster that way. Then we can get back to the slow." I offered.
"Works for me." Morgan said.
"If we make them several sandwiches each, that should slow them down a bit too. Less kibitzing in here." I suggested.
"Even better. Maybe something chewy? Or slow, like a peanut butter sandwich. We have that fresh coarse ground peanut butter... Sticks to the roof of the mouth." Morgan thought out loud.
