After love, rest, and a shower, we went to work. Jessica to her head of Starfleet Medical Research job at the fertility clinic. Close to where Alexander was dropped. Perhaps another message from Cert? We added a little more Crew to the clinic coverage. Jessica has always been guarded when she is there, but it would be like Cert to say she is gone, and then take that moment to go after an unprotected Jessica.

Even without Alexander in her possession, Cert could still carry through on her threat to force Jessica to bear Alexander's child and then kill her. A can of pheromones from the clinic, some blood, and some sperm she has spent some time collecting from Alexander. He did not have to know she was doing that. He is barely aware of things outside his own wants.

Not the time to be letting down our guard.

In a one-on-one fair fight between Jessica and Cert, Jessica would win. She trains all the time, and against super speedy people like me and Morgan. She is faster, bigger, has longer reach, and is physically stronger. I have fought Cert, and while she is a good fighter, she lost to me. Three times in a row. We have trained a great deal since then. Cert knows she is outmatched and so Cert would not fight fair. She proved early this morning she knows how to drug a Vampire.

There is also that if Jessica saw Cert coming, she would not fight fair either. She'd draw and empty her Glock 10mm into Cert, reload, and be ready to do it again. Pressure plus for high velocity. 15 rounds loaded into the clip. Extreme shock rounds designed by the Crew armorer to take down Vampires. They are heavy and they are frangible. They put all the force of the round into the body. Cert more than likely knows that, too.

Morgan, Denise, and I went to Cell Block A. I do not even know where I got that name from. Probably an old movie. Anne is still there, waiting for us.

The NorthAm Crew detention facilities are typically small since Vampires rarely need to be detained. Mostly they are drunk tanks. A drunken Vamp needs to sleep it off. If they are an angry drunk, they need a solidly built room.

The small lower security unit we have downtown is where Sandy is being held. I still have no idea what to do with a Juice-head. What I do know is that if we released her, she is an addict. No promise she gave about her behavior would be worth anything. She'd go looking for a Juice fix, and she would not care about the Vampire secret at all.

I could keep her stoned someplace: A hotel with a fridge full of donated Juice and syringes. Guard her to keep her from running out to find a Vampire to fang her. Sandy's favorite thing. Juice between the legs. All of the highs.

I could turn her into a Vampire and free her from her weird condition. Maybe. Or have a high-powered addict instead. There is no way to know ahead of time if the VMC would change her Juice addiction. She seems to have a genetic predisposition to Juice. We assume it to be some Siren DNA gone wrong. The VMC might not treat that as damage.

I could hope a long enough detention dries her out. Right now I am trying the last one.

There is also the ultimate option. I could kill her. She raped me, so that would be tempting, but I can't make myself kill an innocent victim of her own genetics. She is warped because she is an addict. She did not ask for that.

Denise and Morgan frequently renew their lack of opposition to killing Sandy. Neither wants nor likes to kill: Denise has sworn off killing at others' orders but thinks she could take Sandy out without additional damage to her heart. The same way she lopped off the heads of the Siren rapists. Because it was me that Sandy raped, Denise assures me it would be her honor. For Morgan, that willingness to kill is a mark of how deeply scarred she is by that set of events, and her feeling the rape was somehow her fault.
