Titans.
Within the people known as Eldians lay a curse carried throughout their bloodlines.
They can transform into monsters. Lose themselves as man eating giants that cause only destruction and chaos.
They wreak havoc everywhere they go, destroying nation after nation and forcing the innocents of the world to bear their children. Yet, so caught up in their own desires, they began to squabble amongst themselves.
The nation of Marley, the most oppressed among the colonies of which Eldia had conquered, used the Eldian squabbles to their advantage and rose up from oppression.
The cowardice King Fritz fled the country with a handful of his citizens. They took refuge on the island of Paradis where the king used the powers of the Titans to erect three walls to protect the devils within.
It would have been fitting for Marley to eradicate every remaining Eldian, yet they showed mercy. The people of Marley gave Eldians land to live on.
It was said that in order to gain the powers of the Titans, a single girl made a trade with the devil. It was then that she and all of her subjects were forever cursed; and when she died, her powers split into ten different forms.
The Armoured Titan;
The Attack Titan;
The Beast Titan;
The Cart Titan;
The Colossal Titan;
The Female Titan;
The Founding Titan;
The Jaw Titan;
The Warhammer Titan;
And finally, the Crystal Titan.
Six of the ten were currently within Marley's grasp; the distribution of which was only given to the best of best.
For the price of being a tool, the price of leaving behind the people you care for, and the price of giving up your life, Eldians were given the chance to become Warriors.
When someone receives the powers of one of these great Titans, they are given a contract of thirteen years. During those years and the years to come a Warrior's family family is given the honor of becoming something more than just devil blooded citizens. They're able to become honorary Marleyns.
However, as soon as a contract is over, a Warrior's power will be given to the next generation.
A pair of brothers, similar in hair colour but different in nature.
A clever girl trying her best to not be crushed by the burdens of life.
A young boy who always let his comrades walk all over him.
A girl driven by her unquestionable loyalty and determination to her country.
A naive little girl who lost everything that ever mattered to her.
These were the children blessed with the opportunity to become vessels of the great Titan powers. These were the children who would bring great honor and pride to the nation of Marley.
These were the children who were told to die, and willingly accepted their fates.
But being nothing more than second class citizens, what other choice did they have?

Brisk puffs of mist drifted through the air as waves tousled about. They turned impatiently as the forgin body of metal traveled across the ocean's vast field of blue. The push and pull of the tide was similar to the subtle rocking of a child's crib and was, perhaps, all that was required to send several of its occupants into a light slumber.
Many who traveled were worn out and exhausted. Their bodies ached for rest but their minds were far from calm. Even so, they slept.
Of the few who still wandered the ship awake were heterochromia eyes; they stared out into the distance. It wasn't clear if those eyes were searching for something, trying to grasp for anything which still held familiarity, or if they were just... tired.
Tired from the trip.
Tired from the fighting.
Tired from the war.
In a time where joy was almost forign to the heterochromia eyed girl, slight sparks of joy were present. It wasn't much, but the hues of orange and pink as they danced off the surface of the ocean were quite lovely. Sunsets had always been something of a joy to her.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" the girl wondered out loud, though not on deaf ears.
The blonde who had appeared behind the girl shifted in place. He wanted to say that she was a far more beautiful sight but refrained from doing so. They'd both lost so much. It just didn't feel fair. Not fair of him or fair for her. Instead, he simply replied, "yeah."
The girl relaxed as an ocean breeze swept through her locks of hair. It was a far cry from that of the blonde boy. Despite the amount of times the boy told his racing heart to slow, it didn't. It never listened to him, especially when she was around.
The blonde, having finally built up the courage to speak, took a step towards the girl.
"You're thinking about him, aren't you?" The boy pauses when his eyes meet hers. "Why did you save me? Why didn't you save-"
The girl answered simply, "because I care about you, too."
