Arc 1: Winners of War
---
Year 854: The End of the Marley Mid-East War
Time: 20:00 hours
"If I could begin to be~" A girl's voice echoed into the distance as she lay alone in a field during the early moments of the night, "half of what you think of me~"
Strands of (h/c) hair had been sprawled out across the picnic blanket.
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love
The stars twinkled in the sky almost mockingly. It was reminiscent of that first night in the desert where everything had begun to go downhill.
Of course, things had obviously started before that, long before anyone in this time had even been born. But all of her problems seemed to have started on that day.
A night so similar to this one.
When I see the way you act
Wondering when I'm coming back
I could do about anything
I could even learn how to love... like you
Today, for her, was supposed to be a night of celebration. A night to forget about all her worries and troubles as people gathered together to celebrate her crimes.
Of course, they weren't crimes to everyone.
To the people of Marley, the lives of the people she ended were nothing but necessary sacrifices. People who've ruined their homes and lives. People who built up pointless walls for the sake of trying to keep others out.
Or rather, walls to keep themselves locked in.
They were parents, siblings and lovers. People who left home behind to defend their nations. People who wouldn't be returning home to their loved ones. People who fought in a war that may have never even mattered to them in the first place.
People who she never knew and would never know.
Whether they were truly good or bad didn't matter, because at the end of the day they were nothing but people as well.
I always thought I might be bad
Now I'm sure that it's true
Cause, I think you're so good
And I'm nothing like you
"Hey, why aren't you celebrating with the others?" A blonde boy asked, "I turned for one second and you were gone."
The girl sat up as he took a seat beside her, his arm flush against her own. She quickly glanced at the boy before correcting herself. While he may have been blonde he certainly wasn't a boy anymore. Sitting beside her was no longer someone who would stumble over his words or feet. This was a man who had fought in a war, never knowing if the next day would be his last.
"I prefer the quiet." she replied, "simple nights like this shouldn't be spent in a party that I don't want to be in."
"How are you feeling?" He asked, his voice soft.
