Brisk puffs of mist drifted through the air as waves tossed about. They turned impatiently as the foreign body of metal travelled across the ocean's vast field of blue. The push and pull of the tide reflected the eagerness (or perhaps the nerves) of those who currently sailed across the world. After three years of much needed calm, these brave souls were prepared to risk it all for the sake of freedom.

A world free of cruelty.

A world free of discrimination.

A world that's truly free.

Of the few who weren't so on edge was a pair of warm (e/c) eyes. They stared out into the horizon and admired the brilliant colours that were currently painted across the sky.

There was once a time where joy was a commodity only bestowed upon those who were not born a second class citizen but now, as she admired the beautiful hues of orange and pink that danced off the surface of the ocean, joy was as simple and common as a sunrise.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" The girl wondered out loud.

"I thought you liked sunsets more than sunrises?"

"Did I say that? I can't recall."

"I'm pretty sure you said it at one point..." The newcomer wrapped his arms around the girl's waist. He briefly pressed his lips to the back of her nape before turning her chin and placing a short peck on her lips. Then, with a coy smile, the male poked the girl's sides. "Or maybe the reason you like sunsets more than sunrises is because you never wake up in time to see them."

"Hey! I'm awake now, aren't I?"

"Are you? Or maybe we're both dreaming."

"Oh... well I guess I'll have to confess my undying love for Historia some other time..."

"Wow. That's a low blow."

"What? The part where I'm pining after a married woman or- hey!" The (h/c)ette's words were cut short as the male pulled her in to press another kiss against her lips.

Although these moments were no longer far and few between, the two figures basked in this beautiful moment of peace - something the two of them didn't think was possible for people like themselves, but had somehow arrived to nonetheless.
