Reunion
"Kailan ba ang kasal mo?" I asked Zara.
"Alam mo, you're just like Athena, nagmamadali. Kakacomeback palang namin,"
I rolled my eyes. "You want to bet?"
"What?"
"Mauuna pa siyang magpakasal sa'yo," bulong ko sa kaniya.
I dedicated my life for the past two years to my profession as a secret agent. Natapos ko na rin ang law. Kakagraduate ko lang kaya pinayagan ako na umuwi ngayong buwan para sa birthday ko. Tinapos ko iyon sa ibang bansa. The organization made it possible just to help me graduate to my chosen course. My parents went there to attend, while I'll celebrate it with my friends on my birthday.
"Paanong ikakasal 'yon eh hindi nga maka move on kay Xyzon?" nilingon niya ako.
That's what they don't know. A year ago, the Yexus cousins, together with Kirby and his siblings, approached the AZ Organization to help them protect and hide Xyzon. As much as I want to tell Athena that all this time I knew the truth, I can't just risk Xyzon's life.
"Are you sure you don't want my friend to know about this plan?" seryoso kong tinanong si Xyzon ng magkaroon kami ng pagkakataon na mag usap.
He sighed heavily. Kitang kita ko ang pagod sa mga mata niya. He brushes his hair using his hand. He looks problematic, like he can't decide.
"Meron pa bang ibang paraan? Iyong hindi ko na kailangan mag tago at magpanggap?"
"As much as I want you to stay with Athena, Xyzon, this is the only solution we can think of. Your family will be at risk if you don't leave the country. We can protect them, but we don't want to risk it."
Tumango siya at bumuntong hininga ulit.
"May gusto ka bang ipasabi?"
Tulala siyang nakatingin sa malayo. Nang lingunan ulit ako ay umiling nalang siya.
"Just make sure she's fine and happy. Thank you, Stella. I owe you a lot." Nginitian niya ako.
The meeting with his cousins lasted for how many days. Pero ni isang meeting ay hindi sumama si Aldrius kaya hindi ko siya nakikita. They always say that he's busy with his work and with someone. It bothered me but whenever I looked at Kiero who is passionately listening to the plan, I can say that we both change for the better.
Kung may bago na nga siya ay masaya ako para sa kaniya.
I tilted my head to the side and closed my eyes. Ilang beses ko bang sasabihin iyon? Oo na nga, masaya nga ako para sa kaniya, bakit pa inuulit ulit?
