                                                                                Chapter Five

Opening her eyes, Paloma almost jumped out of her skin when she saw Ana standing over her bed.Glaring down at her.

“I hope you didn’t think that I wasn’t coming?” Ana said as she looked around the room and under the bed

Pushing her hair away from her face Paloma grinned “No I was certain you would be here” looking at her clock “and a whole hour AFTER I expected you”

Ana now walked into the en-suite bathroom “well after both of you refused to answer my phone calls, I decided to get some answers”

“What are you looking for?”

“My brother, the sneak” Ana replied walking back out the bathroom “How long has this been going on?” She demanded her blue eyes so like her brothers, hard and unforgiving.

“Last night was our first date” Paloma answered truthfully

“Is this serious?” Ana asked

Paloma shrugged her shoulders “I’m not sure”

Ana sighed and sat on the bed “You can’t let him bully you, if he forced you into this-“

“Thanks for the support but we are both adults and what goes on between us should stay that way”

Ana glared mockingly “If he hurts you, I’ll cut off his favorite parts” as she stood and pulled Paloma out of bed “Now shower and dress we have a breakfast date and after my night of worry I’m starving”

Paloma laughed “Yes ma’am” she saluted then walked into the bathroom as Ana walked back into the kitchen.

Barely twenty minutes had passed before Paloma was dressed comfortably in jeans and a sweater. She had forgotten how cold New York could get “Ok all set for breakfast”

“Ana smiled “And shopping”

Paloma groaned as Ana dragged her out of the house laughing.

Three hours later Paloma rubbed her feet as Ana modeled bathing suits and talked a mile a minute.

“This is our first day together that we haven’t mentioned one thing about the wedding” Ana said as she paid for her purchases “I like it”

Paloma snorted “You mean you like not having to make a decision”

“Well you make it so hard to choose one thing when the other options are perfect too”

“Speaking of decisions-“

Ana groaned

“The engagement party is in one week, when did you plan on getting a dress? As well as go wedding dress shopping?” 

“Okay, dictator. Tonight over dinner at my place you can bring over the sketches and I’ll have Carla make your favorite dish” She put an arm around Paloma “I hope this, whatever it is between you and my brother works out and you become my sister”
