Chapter 6 - Silent Lines

Muichiro's POV

Would you imagine my surprise when I saw goodie two shoes Tanjirou staring at me in the shower? I was a little surprised in all honesty, I never imagined he would do something like that. And I practically felt his eyes staring holes into the back of my head all throughout class today. I was a little annoyed, but then I noticed how he stared at me during scrabble and how he blushed around me sometimes. Of course it could absolutely be nothing, but until that's confirmed. I'm just going to play with him for a while, I've been known to be quite a tease.

When I made that comment in the showers he blushed and mumbled a sorry before leaving. I chuckled to myself after that, he sure looked cute when he was flustered.

After my quick shower I went back to the room, but not before enjoying one of the cookies I had in my locker. I heard that some people were gambling their desserts after dinner. Tonight I went to their secret meeting and I won six cookies. It was pretty fun, I'm going to keep doing it. I had the funny idea that I would pretend not to know how to play shogi but their faces when I won twice were absolutely priceless. We played in the hull of the ship so no one would see, the swaying from the ship almost made it hard to focus, but when it comes to shogi I am no newbie.

I got a good night's sleep that night, but when I was in the lounge after class I stared out at the ocean from one of the windows and the water was so still, it only slightly moved. It was definitely creepy, as a marine biologist I also know a lot about the ocean. And for it to be that still, it definitely freaks me out, even if it could totally be nothing out of the ordinary .

I woke up before the wake up call the next morning, it was still pretty early, and I was a bit tired. But I got up, I just pulled a sweater over my sleeping clothes and pulled on my sneakers. The halls were almost dead silent as I walked through them. I yawned as I made my way up the stairs and onto the deck. There were a few wet splotches on the deck floor, and the boat rocked slightly which was quite calming. My hair swayed in the slight wind, it was a cool morning breeze.

The sun was just starting to rise, it looked beautiful on the horizon and it made the still waters just breathtaking. But they weren't too still today, probably because of the winds. I sighed and leaned against the railing on the side of the ship.

"What are you doing?" a voice asked from behind me.

I peaked over my shoulder slightly and saw Tanjirou, "I got up early, I wanted to see the sunrise," I said.

"Oh, I guess it is pretty nice" he said as he came to lean on the railing next to me.

I smiled slightly and turned to him, "I'm glad you think so, I've always been a fan of the ocean so I'm happy we share that in common" I said as I placed a gentle hand on his arm.

He blushed brightly at my actions, I'm sorry but I just couldn't help myself.

"Um, we should go inside now, the morning call is about to go off, we need to get ready for class" he said.

I took my hand away and started inside, "You're right, let's go" I said as I walked in front of him. I pulled my sweater around me tightly, defining my shape, seemed innocent enough but I could feel him staring at me.

I smirked to myself, I was definitely going to have some fun with him.

When I was putting on my uniform, I did it in the most sensual way, but I had my back to the others. And then I left my shirt open while I pulled my hair back, I combed my fingers through my hair with the elastic in my mouth, I pulled all the strands of hair except for my bangs and tied them back in a high pony. I usually left it down but with the winds it was extremely annoying with my hair blowing all over the place. Then I buttoned up my shirt, turning away from the others, but not before looking over my shoulder and catching Tanjirou with his hands on the buttons of his shirt and a blushing face looking right at me.
