Chapter 8 - The Sound Of The Sea

Zenitsu's POV

Class was long, I was tired and the classroom was hot that day. But lucky for us, there was a bright blue ocean right in front of us. We all decided to get into our swimsuits and jump into the sea.

I slipped into my trunks and pulled a swim shirt over myself.

"Ha! You wear a shirt when you swim?" Inosuke mocked me.

"You can laugh at me all you want when you get a sunburn" I sighed.

He rolled his eyes and scoffed again. I ignored how Tanjirou ogled Muichiro and how Muichiro was trying his best to seduce Tanjirou. Inosuke stomped out of the room and I was just scrambling to try and find my swimming goggles.

I did not want to be in this room alone with the other two, the sexual tension was too much for me.

I finally found my goggles stuffed in the pocket of my backpack. I quickly left the room after finding them and left Muichiro and Tanjirou to do whatever it is they do behind closed doors.

I walked through the hall and up to the deck, I walked around the wooden deck to the back where there was a small ladder on the side of the boat dipping into the water. There was a break in the railing where you could jump down into the water from the deck.

The sun was killing today, there were no clouds in the sky and the winds were still. The water slightly moved around, it wasn't still like it used to be.

But there was a sound coming from the ocean that freaked me out. When I first got onto the boat the sound of the ocean was lulling, now the sounds of the ocean were strange. They were almost eerie, something about the ocean... it was like it'd changed. Like instead of just water and fish, there was now something else there. I would hear weird noises at night when everyone else was asleep.

Two nights ago I heard something weird, it was definitely a call. Could've been a whale, but I really don't think so. And it's not like I could look it up, all of our electronics got taken away when we boarded.

I've just been a bit freaked out since then, it was distant but it was loud enough to wake me up from my sleep.

But I haven't heard it during the day, just super late at night, around 12-3AM.

I leaned against the railing of the ship and stared out at the water.

There were already some people in the water, Inosuke was splashing everyone and the others were merely floating., cooling off in the saltwater. Going into the sea for a swim sounded like a good idea, but now that I'm here. It feels like I can still hear the calls of whatever's in the ocean.

It freaked me out more than anything.

"Hey! We're here!" I turned to look at the side where Mitsuri and Nezuko came walking. Nezuko came with her long dark hair tied up into a sloppy bun and a cute two piece with a ruffled top with a symmetrical hemp leaf pattern and a high waisted green bottom. She looked really cute. She also held up a bright green floatie at her waist.

Mitsuri was in a revealing two piece, showcasing all her curves in a strappy white bikini. She was hot, but Nezuko was cute. And I was more into cute rather than hot. They both looked gorgeous though.

I gave Nezuko a bright smile, "Hello Nezuko, hi Mitsuri" I greeted both of them as they walked by

Nezuko waved and smiled back at me while Mitsuri returned the greeting. I watched her as she walked over to the ladder, she held Mitsuri's hand and looked down to the water. She waited a moment before jumping right into the water. I chuckled as I saw her moving around in the water, she was incredibly cute. The cutest on the entire ship!
