Chapter 25 - Island Of Faye

Tanjirou's POV

"Alright people, we've found an island," Giyuu announced to everyone in the dining hall.

"This is great news isn't it?" Mitsuri asked.

"Yes, but the only thing is... well from what we can see through a telescope... the island seems to be all woman" he said slowly.

"Wait like a cult or something?" Inosuke asked.

"Obviously there's no way to know something like that for sure" Giyuu said, "The only thing we can do is send the ladies to go see what's going on with the people on the island"

"Is that sexist?" Inosuke asked.

"My wives are not going without me," Uzui chimed in and the three ladies agreed.

"Ok, then minus Uzui's wives, I want Shinobu, Mitsuri, Aoi, Kanao and Muichiro to go to the island on a raft to investigate" Giyuu said.

"Wait, why me?" Muichiro asked, "I'm a guy"

Giyuu made a face, "Welllll...."

"It's cuz you're a twink" Inosuke said in a serious voice.

"Right," Muichiro nodded.

"Why can't we just send one or two?" I asked.

"The more people that go, the more chances at least one person will manage to get back to the ship" Giyuu explained.

"That kinda sounds like you want to use the women as sacrificial pawns" Inosuke said, "Are you sure you're not sexist?"

"Inosuke, I'm not sexist" Giyuu told him sternly, "But if this island really is all women, we don't want them to show hostility towards us, especially at a time like this. We want them to trust us, and for that to happen we have to play by their rules. So everyone who was called please get ready to leave the ship"

"And you promise you won't leave us on the island and just sail away?" Mitsuri asked.

"Don't worry Mitsuri, we won't let him leave you guys" Obanai reassured her.

I watched as Muichiro changed into some loose beige cargo shorts and a dirty white blouse over a tank top. He looked like a girl, and he styled his hair into a messy bun, he wouldn't have any trouble blending in.

"You don't have to go if you don't want to," I said as he continued to get ready in the cabin.

"But I should, this island might be the only one left in the world" Muichiro said, "I want to go"

I sighed, "I don't like the idea of this"

"I'm not going alone, I'm sure I'll be fine" he smiled.

I walked with him down the hall and up to the deck, Giyuu and Sabito were watching a raft inflate on the wooden floor. The others were already there waiting to get on the boat. I didn't want to seem possessive or anything, but I really did not like the idea of Muichiro going to some island with unknown inhabitants.

I helped set up the raft with ropes to lower into the water, and then I helped Muichiro get onto the boat with the other ladies. I watched the boat lower into the water, and chuckled a little when Muichiro flinched when the ropes were loosened and the boat fell about a foot into the water.

And then I watched as they rowed the boat to shore.

Muichiro's POV

"I have to admit, I'm kinda nervous," I said as we rowed closer to shore.

"Why is that? It's not like they're going to kill us or anything" Mitsuri said.

"Maybe not you guys, but if they find out I'm pretending to be a girl they really might off me" I sighed.
