Tanjirou's POV

I was a bit stunned by his words. I was at a table with Nezuko and Muichiro. Once again we played shogi, I wanted to win, just once, that's all I ask for at this point.

I glanced at Muichiro who looked just as confused as everyone else.

Shinobu stood next to Giyuu with a soft smile, she said nothing as he continued.

"We're not going to the Solomon Islands anymore" he started, "Because they no longer exist"

"Is this some sort of prank?" Uzui scoffed as he went back to the cards in his hand.

"No, I'm being legitimately serious, I know it's hard to believe, but you all better believe that there's nowhere for us to go now" he continued, "There's no more mainland"

I raised my hand to ask a question, he nodded for me to ask and I began, "Say that the Solomon Islands are gone, can't we just go somewhere else?"

"No, the mainland is gone, there's nowhere else to go," Giyuu said with a monotone face.

"I knew it, it's the end of the world. I guess all we can do now is survive" Rengoku sighed with a small chuckle.

"Actually this is just the aftermath, the end of the world was the night of the storm" Giyuu said, "But yeah, that's the right attitude"

"You're screwing with us right?" Rui asked in an annoyed tone.

"No, I'm really not. And when we don't get anywhere you all will believe me too, this also explains the monster from the other night" Giyuu tried to reason with us but I don't think anybody really believed him, "The thing was a mutated animal because of the failed experiment that the company was conducting. This is why we're all here, because the company that put us on this ship was doing some weird experiments and they wanted a failsafe, which was us"

I furrowed my brows.

"Giyuu, have you been feeling well?" I asked him from my seat.

"Yeah I'm fine" he dismissed the question.

"Have you hit your head?" Muichiro added with a sarcastic tone.

"There's nothing wrong with my physical health," Giyuu said.

"Oh this has something to do with your mental health? I can help you with that" Rui chimed in from the back.

"Rengoku, I get the feeling that you actually believe him?" I leaned over the back of the chair to look at Rengoku.

"Why would the captain lie to us?" he smiled with a small head tilt.

"You're too gullible, Pengokuko" Inosuke sighed from his chair as he stared at his cards.

"He's not lying you know, everything he's saying is absolutely true" Shinobu hummed from where she was standing.

"We have no reason to trust you," Mitsuri said from the bar counter.

"Kanao?" Shinobu raised her brow to turn to the other girl, "Do you believe me?"

"Why would you turn to her, what makes you think she'll believe you?" Aoi snapped.

"We're sisters of course, one can always count on family, can't they?"

The entire lounge was stunned quiet, "Are you a traitor, did you know about this!?" Inosuke shot up from his chair and pointed a finger at Kanao.

"Inosuke calm down, let's not jump to conclusions just yet" I stood and tried to calm him down.

"I don't know, what you're saying really sounds insane," Kanao said nervously.
