When Nanaba's eyelids fluttered awake, she knew she'd slept more than usual. She knew she wasn't home. The cheap cotton bedsheet wrapped around her torso provided little to no warmth as the early morning chill brushed through the open window.

Her hand rested on her opposing arm, caressing her pale skin as she stirred back to reality from her deep slumber. A groan warbled from her throat whilst she began to stretch her aching limbs.

A sore sensation from her private region rivalled the pounding in her brain. The events from the previous night rushed her memory, connecting the dots as to why she felt an unfamiliar feeling below but an acquainted one above.

Nanaba bit her lip with a satisfied smile. The rush of a new story couldn't hold a torch to a few deep orgasms. She'd learnt long ago Levi had secrets but she wasn't expecting him guard a monster.

She stretching out her limbs. Her forearm landed on the mattress. A fading heat touched her skin and she turned to it out of curiosity.

A patch of mattress remained dipped from its owner's body, the covers rolled away revealing the empty space and it was only then she registered the muffled running water sounding from the another room.

She covered her mouth as she yawned, sitting up in bed. She pulled the duvet up with her, protecting her bare chest from the room's interior. The light peering in from outside was dim.

Nanaba observed with confused eyes trying to discover what time it was. The sun had only begun to rise, the sky was still dark and the stars were in the midst of vanishing.

"Where's..." she trailed off, still attempting to locate her phone.

Nanaba checked under the duvet, nodding at her toned body with a smirk in the process, but failed to see her phone. She checked the rest of the bed, peering over the edge and pushing objects around the bedside table but still, no phone.

She huffed in annoyance. In a final search, she opened his bedside table drawers. A picture with its back facing her sat in the drawer. She forgot her phone as her interest piqued.

Gently, she gripped an edge with two fingers, bringing it outside. The frame was damaged from the passage of time, crumpled and torn. Flipping it over, she spied its contents.

Three figures stood near one another, two in military uniform, camouflaged with the rocky cliffs behind them. Levi, par his shorter hair slicked back with a couple of strands dancing over his forehead, appeared unchanged.

The man at the other edge of the frame stood the tallest with dark blonde hair in a peculiar hairstyle but it didn't peak over his grey eyes. The third was the shortest between the two of them. A young girl with auburn hair in bushy pigtails and large green eyes. Her body was clad in rags. A huge smile rested on their faces whilst a smirk was shown on Levi's.

Answers and questions were held in her hands but all she saw were ghosts. She failed to notice her eyes soften the more she analysed the picture. She ran her finger over Levi's photographed face. His features were soft but his eyes were as experienced as his modern self. Sliding her finger down the picture, she silently gasped with wide eyes, pulling the photograph in close.

"Oh my god."

"What did I tell you I'd do to curiosity?"

She flinched harshly, shuffling in the bed. Levi removed the towel from his dark hair, relaxing it around his shoulders. He'd tied another larger towel around his waist, covering his body from lower torso to his knees.

"Put it down," he ordered with an intense stare.

She nodded in compliance, reaching over to drop it in the drawer where she'd borrowed it from. Turning back, she found him drying his neck. Other officers his age didn't hold a torch to his physical physique, even if his gut mildly suffered from constant beer consumption.
