Thomas

The buzz of the power turning back on makes me sigh of relief.

I can finally see the extent of my injuries.

Grabbing my phone off the bench I see that it's 3:08am.

I hop over to the pantry to grab the broom to sweep up the glass before anyone else hurts themselves on it.

From out on the street I hear a door slam and screeching tires. Someone's in a hurry to leave.

Coraline should have been back by now?

Putting my wounded foot on the floor, I take a few painful steps before the pain starts to numb away.

I reach the front door and turn the outdoor lights on, heading towards the corner of the house.

"Coraline?"

I turn the corner to find nothing.

The power box is partly open, not latched.

Where is she?

"Coraline" i call out a bit louder than before.

From this end of the house you can't access the backyard without jumping the really high fence, but still then there's nothing to boost you over the fence.

Taking another step, I feel something under my foot.

A phone.

I pick it up to soon realise its Coraline's.

If her phones here, where is she?

Unlocking the phone, I look for anything that might hint where she is.

Nothing stands out except one unread message.

2:50am- Kai Bradford; i'm not far;)

An uneasy feeling rises through my chest, trying to figure out what this means.

A location to this person is linked to the message.

My heart drops when I piece together everything.

The tires screeching.

Without hesitation, I'm sprinting back into the house and up the stairs.

I almost fall through the bedroom door as I swing it open.

"Wake up, she's gone someone's got her!" I shake Damiano's shoulders to wake him.

His body jolts as he wakes up, his face twisting in confusion.

"W-who, what?"

I shove Coraline's phone in his face as I let go of him. "She went outside to turn the power back on and this person took her. I heard the car"

He rubs his eyes as he tiredly stares at the phone. "What happened to you?"

"That doesn't matter! She's gone!"

It's almost as if it's only just clicked in his mind as his eyes go wide and he throws himself from the bed, out into the hallway.

I follow him as he barges into Ethan's room, waking him up.

"Coraline's been taken by some guy. Thomas, don't just stand there call the cops!"

I pull out my phone and dial the number, dreading each beep they don't pick up.

"Emergency services, what seems to be the issue?"

"Hi, yes our friends been taken. Someone turned off our power and she was taken while fixing it" I blurt.
